When in doubt, go for the split: both have great feats, and are written as very powerful. They're basically analogs of each other, more or less, contextually.
I can also see arguements for 6/10 either way as being valid.

Both are equally great at using magic. Fate has taken on the same trans level beings like Strange. And draw upon a crap load of power. The only difference is that Fate can amp his stats to pre-crisis Superman levels. Durability and strength.
I was thinking purely in terms of relative magic to relative magic, conceptually. But Kent does edge in the physical department, with little difficulty, despite Strange's moderate martial arts skills/training.
That would make a good arguement for edging in favor of Fate: 6/10.
Anyone want to provide the 6/10 counter-arguement for Strange...?

IDK If strange starts pulling out his old obscure darker magics I'd say it swings in his favor. Strange has always had a higher nuke capacity than Fate IMO but he doesn't use it. CIS is what stops Strange from winning this. IF he goes all out and uses his full capacity as Sorceror Supreme he takes it and I mean turning reality into playdo level magics.
You're displaying considerable ignorance in that assessment.

The real question, as indicated by the majority of above answers, really boils down to giving an arguement for how the general split between them can be swayed to 6/10 in one or the other's favor, which a couple posters have already provided.
Do some proper research, then come back and give a more sensible arguement for why Strange would get the 6/10 (though certainly *not* a slam, under any conventional circumstances).

If Strange starts channeling Dr. Fate energy against himself like he did with Shuma its over. But I think CIS prevents that as last time Shuma nearly possesed him because of it. But yeah CIS off that would take care of Fate and most people pretty quick when you combine that with the other abilities and forces he has available to him. But with CIS on I stick by my statement Dr. Fate wins by a slight margin.
