The Octessence and the demon team assembled are entities that are mostly very obscure and a battle between them seems like it would go down pretty interestingly. If the two teams were to fight in a neutral realm, which team would come out on top?
Team 1
The Octessence: Balthak, Cyttorak, Farallah, Ikonn, Krakkan, Raggadorr, Valtorr, and Watoomb.
Team 2
Demon team: Arioch, Dagoth, Erlik Kahn, Ghaszaszh Nyirh, Kathulos, N'Gabthoth, Nightmare, Shuma-Gorath, Sligguth, The Water elemental.
Let's put it this way. EVERY SINGLE MEMBER of Team Two has been crushed by Dr. Strange, not so Team One. EVERY SINGLE MEMBER of Team One is also a famed demon/god that is invoked by countless sorcerers throughout the universe. Didn't the LT himself invoke the Rings of Raggadorr?
I'm going with Team One for the stomp.

Arioch has a cheap power, Dagoth is weaksauce, Kathulos is a living planet like Ego, N'Gabthoth never did anything impressive, nor did Sligguth. Nightmare and Shuma are the big guns. Not really familiar with the others on team 2.
Funny how the guy who has such a hard-on for on-panel feats is supporting a group of gods who have ZERO feats on panel against a team that has a plethora of them. But yes, Shuma-Gorath does solo. And even if he couldn't (which he could) the top three of the team: Shuma-Gorath, Arioch, Ghaszaszh Nyirh, are enough for the overkill stomp.
Arioch is powerful as hell regardless of him being "cheap". He's certainly more powerful than any of the Octessence, considering a rival in power to the Ancient One couldn't even reach his realm due to his power, whereas recently Cyttorak just had a bunch of bozos waltz up to his realm and surprise him as he was sitting and doing nothing.
N'Gabthoth broke through the Rings of Raggador and was pwning Strange until the Ancient One gave him power, so ...
So? This isn't a popularity contest, it's a battle of strength. Cyttorak's bands have been broken out of by Namor and Hulk, for crying out loud - and Cyttorak's supposed to be the most powerful of the Octessence - yet he couldn't even beat his own avatar in a battle of wills
That was in response to something else . Also , Cyttorak sure didn't seem to be the most powerful when he , Watoomb , Ikonn and a bunch of other guys(I don't remember their names) were bickering over possession of Strange .
They do have feats and fights, the most important being not being wtfpwned by Strange, that's something Team Two can't say.
Strange failed miserably vs Cytoraak in his realm, Strange fxxking OWNED Arioch (in 7 panels!) in his realm, then went on to destroy Shuma Gorath in his realm!
The absolutely HILARIOUS thing about Gorath's "best on panel feat" was that it was the very thing that wound up destroying him!

You're conveniently forgetting that Strange merged with Arioch/eldritch energy from an Old One/magical energy from Victoria Bentley (someone whose magic is more potent than Baron Mordo's) is >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Strange as he was when in Cyttorak's realm.
And Strange couldn't beat every one of Shuma's servants. Ghaszaszh Nyirh actually beat Strange and Kaluu at the same time, taking Strange's eye in the process. They had to collapse Nyirh's temple, his gateway into Earth, in order to BFR him out.
Strange was POWERLESS vs Cytoraak in his realm, that exact OPPOSITE of how he pwned Arioch and Gorath, IN THEIR OWN REALMS.
Watoomb went toe to toe vs Cytoraak in a neutral setting and neither side was budging.
As to the rest of Team One, they haven't been on panel enough to have anything really attributed to their names, but the fact that sorcerers throughout the universe invoke their names in spells (even Dr. Strange AND the LT himself) speaks highly of their power level.
The fact that Team Two got their asses handed to them by Strange is just the icing on the cake.

Got proof of that ? Cuz' in that very same panel where he makes said threat , Watoomb is depicted striking him .
They were essentially fighting like children over the possession of Dr Strange . The boasts made by a narcissist like Cyttorak , in just one panel , don't self-substantiate themselves .
Later on the Vishanti are shown breaking up their bickering over Strange .

But from that point on, Cyttorak was the boss among the Mystical Entities present. When the Vishanti showed up, he was the only one who still opposed anyone taking Doc. A direct message to the Vishanti before Doc renounced his allegiance to anyone.
