I'm confused as to why people think Sentry flies faster than Thor. What is this based on? Are we assuming that he can tap into his higher levels and just go as fast as he wants or something?

I want to know why people are bringing Sentry's speed into this fight. As he so obviously never uses it in fights.

It's like trying to bring up that Celophane S attack Superman used once in one movie as a viable battle tactic.

Thor's flown far faster than light as well. I've seen him cross the Solar System and far wider expanses of space in moments, even Bill crossed IIRC a galaxy in a few moments. He's also kept up with Surfer and other space faring heroes, in flight, including spaceships and such. He even easily caught up to a speeding Skuttlebutt as it was traversing galaxies at speeds far faster than light. I also remember him flying to Asgard the long way (No rainbow bridge) which is in a completely other dimension.

Mjolnir would probably give even Norrin a run for his money in a flight speed contest.

This is a race, no? 1, 2, 3, go and all that. At least that's the way I view it, more than enough time.

Besides, the twirling business at this point is more for show (It looks cool and is a classic part of Thor). Not needed to reach high speeds as we've seen. Mjolnir is just fast.
