Yeah, New X-Men. He did receive some upgrade later.
Afaik, both combatans can blow themselves up, lol. Difference is, Ultimaton probably (emphasis on probably) doesn't come back from that.
Didn't Daken hack him in hopes of killing X-Force with his self-destruction? Stopped following the series carefully some time after that issue, so I have no idea if he came back.
