Also whats up with the heat vision or whatever coming out of his eyes..floating up into the air? I've seen drawings of his eyes glowing, but this looks weird.

I don't think that's heat vision, it's likely the heat from his eyes mixing with the oxygen in the air and turning it into a mist like vapor.
