Strong Guy could have been the "good guy" version of Sebastian Shaw but he's nowhere near Shaw in terms of power. Rogue with Ms. Marvel's powers (no cheating via power absorption) beat him down. Luke would be able to do it too.

Guido has a base strength of 50 tons, I think Shaw has a base of peak human strength iirc. But Shaw has a much higher limit to the amount of energy he can store and on top of that he don't have to get rid of the energy.

That's the thing. I don't think he can amp much more than those 50 tons. Rogue/Ms. Marvel was also around the 50 ton range and she smoked him fair and square.
In fact, I don't think I've EVER seen Guido's energy absorption power help him win a fight. Relatively recently, Thing was owning him till Shatterstar jumped in and saved him.
