Sakutia-
What do you know, another disease that started in Doom Patrol – though way earlier than Morrison’s run. Sakutia has a number of side effects, including granting the affected party with the ability to control their genetic code, turning them green, and, oh yeah: killing them in under forty-eight hours. Teen Titans hero Beast Boy is one of the few survivors of Sakutia, and is now able to change into any animal at will. But most people? Just mean, green, and dead.

As to the thread, The Hunger Virus aka the Marvel Zombie Virus. Have you guys not seen the destruction it caused across the multiverse in the Marvel Zombie series and it's tie ins? The virus affects : humans, animals, gods, mutants, even cosmic non abstract beings like Galactus.

*Aside from the Jigsaw Disease being a bonafide death sentence(it is completely incurable), it is also notoriously sporadic. What I mean is: it can take hours, days, or even years to unmake/kill you.
