Before he even reached his true potential, Tim spawned a thousand different universes as a subconscious afterthought:

(as the second scan states: he also sent a sliver of himself to each one.)

*And to be clear: in The Books of Magic, "worlds" = dimensions/universes:

A much weaker fraction of Tim's totality destroys one of his realities:

(this scan also confirms that all of Tim's creations were undoubtedly full-fledged universes.)

Additional confirmation that Tim can easily obliterate dimensions/universes:

A future version of Tim is shown killing Spectre, along with every mage on earth:

"That's you, Tim... You as you are now [...] I'm sorry, kid. It already happened."

And as the Merlin, Tim bonded with the 'Song of Creation', which endlessly makes and remakes the whole of existence:

tl;dr
I think Tim can defeat MJJ... Especially as the Merlin.

thumb up

Tim is the most powerful magic user in DC. I really wish they'd give him a proper series again -- all of his old titles were just fantastic. thumb up

Also, you'll note that Tim mentions destroying the "world" in this scan:

As I mentioned above- in The Books of Magic, 'world' is often used interchangeably with 'universe', 'realm', 'dimension', and 'reality'. Additional confirmation of this can be found at the end of the same series -- Tim and the Faerie Queene once again reiterate that entire universes(not just worlds) were at stake:

In the DCnU, Tim's father(who was stated to have LESS potential than Tim himself) froze/immobilized HUNDREDS of magical beings that were actively battling, with a gesture- inc. Deadman, Zatanna, Black Orchid, Frankenstein, and yes, Constantine. Tim and his father then discharged so much magical energy that even Constantine was awestruck by it:

Constantine: "It goes on for fifteen, twenty minutes. Pouring forth... A release of magic on a scale I'd never seen or imagined... A hundredth of that force would destroy your average mage in seconds."

*Note: even after expending THAT much power, he still unfroze everyone on the field with another gesture. #NowThatsPower thumb up

MJJ is a beast. Also warped the entire Omniverse in a Future where he wasn't stopped by the Fury (his only better). Matrix/Merlin was all powerfull concering omniversal space-time, until GOD (MJJ) awoke. Like all would-be GOD types he was given a plot to lose of course. His only true weakness, an already nearly indestructible cat now also immune to his power, that adapts to anything thrown at it, duh.

At the very least we know that saturnyne's universal-destruction weapon was not sufficient to stop 616 MJJ.
