Never let anyone else define you. Don't be a jerk just to be a jerk, but if you are expressing your true inner feelings and beliefs, or at least trying to express that inner child, and everyone gets pissed off about it, never NEVER apologize for it. Let them think what they want, let them define you in their narrow little minds while they suppress every last piece of them just to keep a friend that never liked them for themselves in the first place.
I thought Kara had the upper hand. She was controlling the fight with her HV, Super Breath, and dishing out the majority of offense, while Mary was just taunting her.

I am genuinely surprised by this thread, and such like it (eg concerning a certain strong but one dimensional character who is often placed against more omnidimensional characters, but I digress).
Even if the two ladies were equal in strength, speed, resilience etc (which they are not, but assuming they were), one character would still have all sorts of additional powers ...heat, ice, wind ...basically one half of your typical X-men team!
Even if they were equal, they weren’t.
It’s like two twins at a steakhouse restaurant ...alike in every way, but one twin has a knife and fork and the other has to rely on his fingers.
She cut out the middle man and got the Greek powers directly.
And after that, I'm not certain if she had anything to do with Adam or not.

She gave that up in the Eclipso fight. Darkseid later returned some of it, although it's really unclear if Adam's abilities were still involved. I don't think she had the full blown amp by the time she fought Kara, but there was definitely some confusion on DC's part.
As for the fight, it's hard to place Mary. She might have a sliding editorial power level based on Supergirl. The few showings we have of her indicate she could compete physically, provided she is mentally determined enough. Will her magical nature be enough to overcome Supergirl's versatility edge? Who knows.
