Batman uses those power gauntlets made to fight Superman, from Deathstroke.

Let them think what they want, let them define you in their narrow little minds while they suppress every last piece of them just to keep a friend that never liked them for themselves in the first place.
They also punch really hard, which is their primary function (Slade claimed Batman almost killed him with a big skull fracture, and you know he'd never hit that hard on purpose. Shows how hard they hit..)

It was Slade's guess that they were designed to fight Supes --- in fact, it's the second time Slade guessed that, saying the same thing before about the other pair of gauntlets, iirc.
Doesn't necessarily make them Superman-busting gloves, the only such pair existed in an alternate universe:

Even if they were what Slade said, they relied on an external power source... Colossus doesn't shoot energy beams, they're gonna run out of power before they do any damage.
Except Slade only charged them in issue 32, when he was chasing down the super hero with a death wish.
In the cave, they were sitting around in the plane, and weren't hit once.
Just because the staff charges them, doesn't mean it doesn't have it's own internal power source. The absorption was probably just a defense for hv...

Batman wasn't very chatty in either fight. It was Slade who couldn't shut up.
Sigh. I'd need to re-read both fights. Got the issue number/scans on hand? DarkSaint, maybe you?
You're assuming lots of things here. That Slade guessed correctly - twice - and that bit about absorption being purely meant for defense is just ridiculous and goes against what was shown on panel, iirc.
Slade made mention of his staff charging them in 34, but never actually hit them before Batman threw those energy bolts.
Slade did talk a lot. Kind of funny when Tom King wrote him as a mute.
