People tend to forget that the Hulk can be very resourceful. Why would he ever come into contact with an energy leech if he could avoid it? Why wouldn't he distance himself and bury him by opening the ground beneath his feet? I am of course using a real world scenario with no innocent lives that could be placed in danger, which would hamper the Hulk's performance.
