Gender: Male Location: Planning to take over the WORLD!
God Doom v PRB Doom
a recent discussion brought this to mind--this battle sees doom after he absorbed PR beyonder's power, vs the more recent god doom, who possessed all the power of all the beyonders.
Gender: Male Location: Planning to take over the WORLD!
given things as they currently are, who do you think is intended to be more powerful--the current beyonders or pr beyonder? this is actually a pretty difficult question. it will depend on how much you think has actually retconned and how you feel the beyonders are intended to be seen.
I'm still under the impression that Classic Beyonder is the most powerful being ever conceived of by Marvel.
The main reason for this is that his powers were millions of times that of the rest of the Multiverse combined.

This in itself wouldn't be enough to defeat the Supreme Being of Marvel, the Above-All-Others. However, the Above-All-Others was defeated and absorbed by Thanos after he supposedly absorbed all the Cosmic Powers in two timelines, with an alternative interpretation being that he absorbed all the Cosmic Powers across the Multiverse.
However, even the most generous interpretation, where it's assumed that:
Thanos absorbed all Powers in the Multiverse. Abstract-Aggregate Thanos ~ Multiverse.
Thanos was only marginally more powerful than the Above-All-Others, effectively doubling his power after absorbing the Above-All-Others. Thanos-Above-All ~ 2 Multiverses.
That in the Beyonder panel above, "millions of times..." refers to the least amount of necessary for plurality, two millions. Beyonder ~ 2,000,000 Multiverses.
Classic Beyonder is still more powerful by a factor of a million.
I thought he had the power of the Beyonders along with Owen feeding him power as well? Even without that, I think the concept of what Doom power level was at doesn't always have to translate to ft vs ft. He's not going to replicate everything classic Beyonder did but he is obviously more powerful. Doom waves his hand and win this fight imo.
Assuming that Doom can use the full breadth of pre-retcon Beyonder's power, he wins.
Aside from what Astner said, there's also the fact that the entire race of Ivory Kings were wiped out by a blast(via the Owen Bomb) that 'only' destroyed a few hundred thousand universes... Even pre-retcon Owen could casually unleash blasts that were orders of magnitude more potent than that: https://i.imgur.com/EhLajoj.jpg
Additionally, pre-retcon Beyonder was the embodiment of the Beyond Realm itself: https://i.imgur.com/5PLC1Q7.jpg "Without me, it's not even really a place!"
Whereas the Ivory Kings are just one(of several) species that inhabit the Beyond Realm in current continuity: https://i.imgur.com/czG7ZQS.jpg

I forgot about that. And you can't really make the argument that "it only destroyed a hundreds of thousands of universe because were only hundreds of thousands universes left," because a few dozen universes supposedly survived it.
-Hundreds of thousands of universes remained in Marvel prior to the detonation.
-Doom detonates the Owen Bomb against the Ivory Kings.
-The number of remaining universes was down to <24 after the detonation.
-The entire entire race of Ivory Kings are obliterated.
Also factor in what we know about Owen's function at the time:
That an infinite number of Owens were identically engineered by the Ivory Kings so as to destroy the universe they were placed in upon detonation. IOW, 1 Owen detonating = 1 universe destroyed, 100 Owens detonating = 100 universes destroyed, infinite Owens detonating = infinite universes(the multiverse) destroyed... Which is what the Ivory Kings planned to do.
So in this case it seems clear that Doom(while he was moonlighting as Rabum Alal) managed to 'collect' hundreds of thousands of Owens, which would explain why hundreds of thousands of universes were destroyed when the Bomb detonated. Point being, this detonation still managed to wipe out the entire race of Ivory Kings.
This is important because pre-retcon Owen(who was vastly weaker than pre-retcon Beyonder/Doom) was able to casually unleash blasts many orders of magnitude above the detonation that wiped out all the Ivory Kings.
