I'm actually helping Sentry here. They are saying that characters get all of their fts from previous stories even though beforehand, they downplayed Sentry taking out MM, saying he was weaker in the book due to his fts in the story. So now we are seeing if that thought process changed all of a sudden.
Sentry defeated a full powered Owen. He reversed it on Owen, and pretty much had him at his mercy. Sentry can be immensely powerful. I’m not really sure if he can die, or age at this point? Robert has constructed an entire functional universe that he can go to while making the world believe that he died, or even ever existed, so that’s some reality manipulation evidence imo?
I believe that the form that he took as Death Seed was him with full knowledge of his abilities. He was in full control the entire time.
If you’re saying that that’s the end of the Sentry, due to Knull, it makes absolutely no sense at all, but Marvel may want to move away from the character, I’m only saying that if Sentry popped up again, it wouldn’t be shocking. Nor would it be shocking if he remained deep sixed.
Sentry, much like the Beyonder, is a writer tool without a fixed background, personality, power set, or power source. A tabula rasa for the writer to fill, with whatever elements that happen to suit the story at hand.
The Sentry that fought Molecule Man only existed in that story. The tool served its purpose and afterwards the slate was wiped clean, ready for its next purpose -- to be equipped/unequipped with whatever powers the writer next wants or needs for their story. One day he can defeat Owen, the next he maybe only stalemates Hulk, and the day after that he actually loses to Human Torch. Different tools for different stories.
