Laptop unable to connect to wireless network
I recently picked up a rather old laptop (Pentium 1, 150 MHz, 128 MB ram), and loaded Windows XP onto the machine. It came with a wireless card, and I believe it's 802.11 b. The router I have is 802.11 g, which from what I know, is supposed to work with it. In XP on the laptop, I get the "One or more wireless networks are available" popup and then it displays my home network and I'm prompted to enter the WEP key.
I've entered all four that my router had assigned and every time I hit connect, it fails to connect, and instead pops up with the same "One or more wireless networks have been found" bubble. This happened with our desktop downstairs and I had to disable the 802.11 Authentication in order for it to work. I've done the same thing on the laptop, but it hasn't fixed my problem at all.
I've tried everything. I've heard that it may be a bug in XP SP1, so I was going to try and get SP2 on there and see if that changes anything. If anyone could help me out, I would greatly appreciate your advice on the matter.

Alright... I've slipstreamed SP2 into my XP Install CD and updated the computer that way. The laptop still seems to not connect. The signal strength it detects is 5 out of 5 bars full, basically being as strong as it can be, but it still can't connect to the wireless network. The router is broadcasting in mixed mode, since the desktop downstairs is wireless G and the notebook is wireless B. Please, what else is there to do to get the laptop to work with the wireless internet on my network?

Get the latest drivers for your card.
Also make sure your router is running the wireless network in a backwards compatible mode.

Yep. The router is running in mixed mode, being G and B modes. There are the G-only and B-only modes along with 'off.' And yes, I have the latest drivers for the network card. Even after installing SP2, it still can't and won't connect, even with 100% signal strength. I've tried both with and without WEP encryption, and both times it refuses to connect.
Edit: This is a PDF with the specs for the card: http://www.twinmos.com/wlan/download/d_b230.pdf
