Major Connection Performance Issues

My internet is going EXTREMELY slow. I'm being disconnected during gameplay (MMORPG), my MSN is shutting down and websites are loading very slowly.

I've tried power cycling my modem, changing cords, calling my service provider and such.

Insomuch my service provider is sending a technician but if you guys can offer any advice, it would save a week of waiting.

Any ideas?

how about a quick little anti-virus scan ??? and a scan for malware adware spyware trojans and so on and see if that wouldn't help you also try to run a quick cleaning of you computer I think CCleaner would do nicely and what more could you do delete temporary internet files and so on and on and on you get the picture just write if you want help to clean it up.

Do you use a router? IF so, what kind? What kind of Modem are you using? What kind of service do you have? Do you connect ot the internet by a PPPoE?

If your using verizon check if your phone line isn't connected to a filter before it's connected to the port (This white thing which it connects to first, and then the white thing connects to the port) Because verizon recquired those to be instlaled earlier, and my connection was really slow. The Verizon Support guy came into my house and took it out, and well, it went from 5kb to 150kb.

Try taking out the line/phone port and waiting for 10 minutes, and then putting back in.

What connecting speed do you have now? Which connection speed was promisd to you by your company?

It sounds like you most likely have a faulty DSL line or Broadband... one of the two. The technician will figure it out dont worry.
