Evangelicals for Greenpeace?
Hello everyone!
Earlier today I was browsing ABC's new-site and saw a story I thought
was very interesting. The story was about about how evangelical chris-
tian are beginning to focus their attention on preserving the environment.
This surprised me, because although I do feel it's an important topic, I
don't feel it merits a major campaign by a group who's most important
task is to spread the gospel throughout the world. Every believer should
be responsible with the earth and it's resources, but salvation is infinitely more important because as we know, this world is not eternal.
What do my brothers sisters in Christ think?
Before I go I'd like all of my fellow believers to visit rzim.org and listen
to a man of God who, perhaps better than no one else today addresses
the issues that are destroying modern man.
That's the problem with the view many Christians have. They tell you the world isn't going to last, that it will be destroyed, so why should we pay much mind to it. Though the bible says we are the care takers of the Earth. I know many Christians that don't care about the environment. They don't care about polluting it, using up all the resources here..etc.., cause well "Gods gonna destroy it anyways."........I've always had a problem with that.

Dear debbiejoe:
I you believe you misunderstood the point I tried to make on this subject. The point I made was that large christian groups such as
evangelicals lose their priorities when their focus shifts away from
the most important goal, which is proclaming the gospel until Christ
returns. When I wrote "this world is not eternal" I did not mean that
it will be destroyed; rather, I meant that the world in its present un-
clean, broken state will not last. When Christ returns he will restore
all.

Looking at you.
I believe, and I don't mean to be offencive, that this mind set, that god is returning, leads people to do evil things like neglect the world and its care. Some people feel that god will fix it all in the end, so why bother.

I will now ask for your opinion on this subject. Do you agree or disagree? I would just like to add your favorite quote is from
probably my favorite TV show!
I feel more priorities for our home has gotten lost.....Our backyards have become garbage dumps and our waters are full of contaminates. If you believe god is in all things or whether you view this world as a gift. Either way it's been taken for granted and if we don't do something about it, it won't be worth living in.....

Regardless of how some may interpret this teaching,it's more offensive
not to proclaim this wonderful truth that is the only hope for all of man-
kind.
The people who live will always live. The gospel message was distorted........People are the priority. We are to love them for who they are. The world is our home, we must take care of it...If you don't love the world then you can't think too much about people now can you, because it is their home.

Before I go to bed, I would like to say debbiejoe, you could'nt have said
it any better.People are the priority of the gospel, which is why it's far more important we prepare them for their eternal home, which is heaven.
As far as people being burned at the stake, the ones responsible were
never christians in the first place.A true follower of Christ would never do
such a thing. If you two have further questions, please visit rzim.org
I hope to speak to you guys soon!!
