Sylvia Plath
Sylvia Plath is one of my favourite poets.
I was just wondering if anybody else liked her, or if there's anyone who hasn't come across her yet?
Also, I'm trying to find a poem by her, I don't know if anyone can help me...
I can't remember what its called, but she finds a dead snake in the path, and the description is just beautiful. any ideas?

i havent read her stuff yet...although ive been thinking about it because of the fact that Ryan Adams wrote a song about her...entitled Sylvia Plath...and its one of my favourite songs
I wish I had a Sylvia Plath
Busted tooth and a smile
And cigarette ashes in her drink
The kind that goes out and then sleeps for a week
The kind that goes out on her
To give me a reason, for well, I dunno
And maybe she'd take me to France
Or maybe to Spain and she'd ask me to dance
In a mansion on the top of a hill
She'd ash on the carpets
And slip me a pill
Then she'd get pretty loaded on gin
And maybe she'd give me a bath
How I wish I had a Sylvia Plath
And she and I would sleep on a boat
And swim in the sea without clothes
With rain falling fast on the sea
While she was swimming away, she'd be winking at me
Telling me it would all be okay
Out on the horizon and fading away
And I'd swim to the boat and I'd laugh
I gotta get me a Sylvia Plath

on their way to the gate, so as to spite their Creator.
And outside the Garden, crouched against the Wall
they gorged upon the Fruits, eating one after the other
until their bodies sickened with the excess of it,
and they puked them up
And the Seeds of Fruits were spilled in the dirt,
And from them came Monsters of the World,
Who were borin in filth,
And never knew there was such a thing as Love

Oh, its brilliant Trick, tho rather morbid. Here's a quick overview to get you started, but there are a million more great sites if you simply type 'Sylvia Plath' into google, or the search engine of your choice!

seriously though... I quite like Plath's work.... although i would question the wisdom of letting adolescent girls read it in school....

She's great, I like what little I've seen from her so far.
