Sonic has homing attack and spin dash plus his lightspeed attack. Link would never be able to defeat Perfect Chaos, Final Hazard, or Metal Overlord. Shadow is the ultimate life form with Chaos Control, chaos spear, homing attack, spin dash, lightspeed attack, plus he's already faster then both Link and Dark Link.
