Mercer by all rights should have destroyed Heller. Yet Heller punked him. Meh.

Maybe because he gave Heller the exact same strain of Blacklight he had. Or maybe he could and feigned not being able to. He welcomes Heller to the top of the food chain at the end of the fight. Maybe he wanted him to see the world how he saw it in the comic that connects the games. He wanted him to perceive the world for what it was from a position of power, where he could do something about it.
In all honesty, there's no logical reason he shouldn't be able to absorb Heller. He did absorb Green(e) after all.
Alex is invincible he is beyond death, you see alex travelled the world after the events of prototype 1 and he did what he did because he saw all the despair in the world.
Corrupt Government, Famine, Disease, especially in africa which hit him most, he evolved people not for some evil purpose but to give each individual person the opertunity they needed to fight the corrupt world alone, to be immune to disease and hunger.
For the reason he cant die is he is as he travelled the world he spread particles of the virus at every locations which in itself spreads throughout the landscape, in the tree's, earth, grass, air its a strain that doesnt infect people but he can make it at will.
But the thing is he is connected to those particles at all times since his full body has been completely destroyed he can remake himself down from an atomic level from any one of those particles around the world and so he cannot die no matter what.
Thats what at the end the achievement says "Murder Your Maker?" with the ? at the end.
I think that mercer didn't fight with his full potential. He even didn't used groundspike which were far better than the spiked punch.He even didn't used any devastator. His critical pain devastator could have made the shit out of Heller.
Anyway I think Mercer could have killer Heller easily as he had also developed many new abilities.
