AOTC Anakin vs. Aayla Secura

I say the Twi'lek. Anakin was arrogant, impatient, and dumb in AOTC. Aayla was already a JEdi Knight. Who'd win?

She was promoted to general in ROTS, Anakin was only a commander.

That and the fact that he lead an army. That makes him a general. Generals lead army groups. Commander is not an army title so much as it is a generic title for one who commands.

I don't think there was a fighting Jedi who wasn't made general.

That's probably true. But as we've seen from AOTC, the jedi weren't the best for the general position. debatable why they would be appointed it.

Well, war is a good teacher. I doubt that any of those particular Jedi had had much experience in all out combat up until AOTC.

Still, they should have been classically trained. I mean, the jedi have their own personal archives, and must instruct their students in all branches of learning.

And if you want to get nitpicky, hell... even governor Tarkin of Eriadu, some industrialist planet official, was classically trained in warfare.

Jedi still weren't good generals, when you look at Obi Wan for instance. In LOE he leads by just going in and doing a few things and then something happens and he can move on. Basically the way he leads his army's is by just going in there with a group of soldiers and then constantly adapting to the situation. Nice but not going to work in a full scale battle.

Still i'm sure the Jedi would have learned a lot in the wars. And you can't put the general in any less of a position, when you don't have a traditional army to speak off. Besides the Jedi wouldn't agree to it, maybe they should but they wouldn't. They think they are to good and valuable to be send into battles by others. Not to mention that its going to be hard for others to judge the powers of the Jedi. Jedi are nice to have in an army, but you need them in high ranks because as foot soldiers they are worthless. You just need to hope that there are some good generals in the Jedi Order.

Which there wasn't. Anakin lead from the front, and made many mistakes, creating overblown casualties in Jedi Trail. Yoda's troops on Kashyyk are apparently schooled by morons, because they were dug in and ready for the enemy, and then suddenly get up and charge only to get slaughter. Geonosis- 'nough said.

The point is, the jedi don't think like tacticians. They don't realize that you have to think smart and play dirty. Revan understood this quite well, which is why he was able to defeat the Mandalorians at their own game. I doubt any PT jedi could have done this.

I'm sure they couldn't have, I mean every battle you see them in makes them suck as generals. Their tactics are worthless.
