THAT BATTLE WAS TERRIBLE!! Maul can kill a jedi master but not his padawan sheesh then years later he came back to kill vader on the death star and he didnt suceed AGAIN this guy is stupid

Omg, watch the fight again. Maul had Obi-Wan hanging for dear life on the edge of a shaft that went down hundreds of feet, and he was above him taunting him. I would consider that a win. It's like saying Sidious was better that Mace because Mace was the one that died, however Mace disarmed Sidious and layed him flat on his ass! Just because one person dies in a duel does not necessarily mean they are worse than the person who survived. Maul's overconfidence led to his downfall, however he was the better fighter.

the journel of darth maul says that he gloated in his 'victory'..even though sidious had told him to just finish them off and not gloat...he could have very easily dispatched obi1, but he savoured his victory and the fact that he would destroy a jedi team..and that was his downfall.

No! He COULD kill a Jedi padawan! He could have very easily killed Obi-Wan. He was as MadMel put it "savouring his victory". Obi-Wan was hanging off the edge of a drop that went down hundreds of feet and he was defenseless! Maul could have killed Obi-Wan with ease.
