Mace defeated Sidious due to Vaapad, Dooku doesn't have that. Also it's quoted in Lybrinthe of Evil that "He [Dooku] would have no chance in a fair fight against his master[Sidious]. Or something to that effect.

What Matt said, plus Dooku isn't even with Mace, Mace would win against Dooku in a one on one.

It's going to be the exact same battle in ROTS apart from Dooku survives the blitz but dies around a minute later.

Hurray for thinking things. I think I'm Superman. Gimme a minute while I go reverse the Earth's polarity.

But seriously, Mace and his Vaapad/Shatterpoint>>Dooku. Sidious>>>Dooku. The RotS novelization really casts Dooku in Sidious' shadow. Really you're replacing the guy who DID defeat Sidious after losing his three compatriots, with a guy who is very clearly Sidious' inferior, and Kit Fisto. Way to go.

Sidious kills them all. Dooku was a little bit weaker then Mace and Sidious took out the others in seconds.

Depends on what context everyone is saying "Mace >> Dooku." In terms of skill? It's absolutely arguable.

Mace was a "high end master of multiple forms" whereas Dooku was the supreme master of the ultimate refinement of lightsaber-to-lightsaber dueling; Dooku is a specialist, whereas Mace undoubtably has a wider arsenal. On the other hand, Dooku was also the Temple's foremost lightsaber instructor at one point, and has demonstrated considerable knowledge of all forms, though there is nothing to suggest he's a high end master of multiple forms. And one also has to take into consideration that Dooku is the more experienced duelist and has defeated Mace in the past, whereas the same cannot be said of Mace himself.

It's hardly cut-and-dry and Mace is by no means out of Dooku's league. The statement provided in Dark Rendezvous suggests that, all things considered, Dooku and Mace are equal in skill. In the Force, I would likely have to defer to Dooku by something of a notable margin; he wouldn't be owning Mace or easily defeating him by any means, but Dooku was an experienced scholar of Sith and Jedi techniques for decades and is referred to as one of the most powerful Jedi and Sith in galactic history.

In the strict confines of a duel, though, yes, I would have to side with Mace, given the metaphysical properties of Vaapad and the shatterpoint charism would allow him to negate any advantages at Dooku's disposal. Even then, it isn't a guaranteed win. Dooku may get lucky and score a quick kill before Mace submerges himself in Vaapad.

If we took the metaphysical nature of Vaapad out of the equation, then I would personally say it could go either way without any favorites.

One thing i would have to say about that though, Mace's TK feats are definitly greater than Dooku's.

Define "greater." In terms of raw strength? Absolutely. But does that mean that Mace is more powerful in the Force than Dooku or possesses a greater command of it? Not necessarily. Dooku is a fencer, a duelist and personage of sublime precision. His demonstrations of telekinesis underline that point on a constant basis; he is an efficient user of the Force. He telekinetically throttled Quinlan Vos while simultaneously relieving him of his lightsaber, which the Ultimate Visual Guide notes as an extremely impressive demonstration. Dooku's skill with telekinesis was such that his lesson was chosen to be included in the Great Holocron. He also used the Force to forcibly remove Obi-Wan Kenobi twice, destroy a support structure, collapse a pillar, use a dagger to pick a lock, and choke a pirate while simultaneously forcing him to fire upon his comrades.

Given Dooku's accolades and references to an "extraordinary" strength in the Force, there's nothing to indicate that Mace is better than him. In terms of knowledge, he almost certainly is superior to Windu.

by greater, i did mean on scale. I was referring of course, to the CWC's and mace's wtf pawnage of an entire army of battle droids, with several gigantic TK attacks. That kind of attack seems like it would have the most use in combat, but perhaps not.

Certainly not meaning to belittle Dooku's own ability there, as he was obviously a high level master with the force.
