Darth Bane vs General Hoth

On Ruusan, no thought bomb effects, no orbalisks for Bane. Just one all out battle. Who wins, the great general of the Army of Light, or the Sith'ari?

Thought so, I have only read about General Hoth through the Darth Bane series, so wasn't sure if he was more powerful than how he is described in PoD.

He was great in his leadership ability, but he doesn't seem to have been one of the top duelists of the era. Not shabby, but not the top. Bane spanks him back into his inky tomb of eternal woe.

I would like to note that that's largely speculation: We don't really know how strong Hoth is in a duel, I don't think we know any of his saber fights.

We only know that he was a great general (and did hold the rank of battlemaster).

Again, everything hinted at speaks to his strength as a rallying point for the Jedi, not as their champion. Bane violates him.

Which doesn't mean he isn't very very strong.

Yoda was more rallying point than champion too, after all.

I'll have to read through Path of Destruction again sometime as I'm sure there's something that hints at his abilities. Almost every other notable Jedi or Sith gets a mention as to combat skills in that book in some way or another.

I just reread PoD a few days ago. There wasn't really any mention of his abilities other than leadership. Farfalla also said he was lacking in areas diplomacy, but beyond those points there isn't anything else about the abilities of General Hoth.
