While Pre fought well against Maul he was still defeated in a duel where Maul refrained from using the Force offensively as he needed to win in a "fair fight" to gain the loyalty of Death Watch. Sedriss has no such compunctions here. He could just Force Choke Pre any time he liked.
Even if Sedriss opted for a lightsabre duel I'm still confidant he'd win.
