Ancient Sith as in Sadow's empire?
Kun's collabs with the Krath and Mandalorians vs. Sadow relying solely on reinforcements from Ziost/Korriban and his Massassi might be a disadvantage to Kun's more varied forces imo.
Not to mention no one from Sadow's era is superior to Kun or Ulic

I'm not positive myself that Ulic is stronger than Sadow. Exar is, though.

Ulic has better feats than Sadow, Sadow might be more powerful in the force but Ulic is the better duelist and at least comparably powerful
