AotC Anakin doesn't suck, lol. Dooku admitted on two occasions to being challenged by him, and he's fought fast enough to cover himself in light or appear to be everywhere at once, displaying Force mastery that Obi-Wan considered to be on par with the likes of Qui-Gon Jinn and similar Jedi masters. He's also quite powerful in having hurled Tusken Raiders 30m and hurled boulders the size of huts, and tamed a reek via Beast Control. In terms of creativity, he has used Barrier to block people from moving, which he successfully managed against Tyranus.

Aotc Anakin challenge Dooku? That's a laugh. I distinctly remember him loosing and arm to Dooku in like 5 seconds
