The pairs of two come off as being very similar in terms of combat ability.

Senate Commando is = Republic Commando. Not sure why thinking a Clone Captain compares.

They are already the elite of the elite, only those with the top scoring marks in combat are selected to be a Senate Commando.

On top of that, they also have more protective means compare to the Clones, with their shoulder pauldron which is blaster resistant.

I mean yeah sure, it's just the pauldron, but that's more than the Clones here could say for.

They've also fought off Droid Commandos.
