Plagueis is already in the same ballpark as Novel Vitiate, who's >>> the weakened Voice that HoT beat (tbh doubt the Voice was stronger than Jadus at the time), and the First Son has nothing putting him above Jadus either. The two together are definitely an extremely formidable force, but they would still get cast aside like bugs by Novel Vitiate, and, by extension, Plagueis and TPM Sheev
I think they have a good chance. Either could give Vong Krayt a good fight, and together I see them beating Reborn. They've fought together dozens of times, which would make up for the power gap still left over IMO.
Darth Plagueis almost lost to a bunch of assassins during the height of his power.
Do you see Vitiate struggling against a bunch of assassins?
Vitiate had suffered a setback beforehand but remained the most formidable threat in existence regardless of that. Nobody with the exception of T7-O1 droid was willing to take chances against that Voice, not even Satele Shan.
More importantly, HoT wasn't having any fun in that environment either. He had to fight his way through the forces of darkness and also put up with the oppressive Dark Side energies of the Dark Temple before reaching the Voice and contending with it.
Now, can we stop lowballing an accomplishment which is one of the greatest in the history of mythos?
First Son was the most powerful manifestation of Vitiate outside a Voice; comprising strengths of both Jedi Master Syo Bakarn and Vitiate. To give you an idea, First Son was able to suppress the footprint of all Children (of Vitiate) across the galaxy in addition to its own and other responsibilities it had to shoulder.
Barsen'thor utilized esoteric talents to overcome First Son; conventional powers were not enough. Still, a remarkable accomplishment for any Jedi and therefore the title of Barsen'thor.
