Failkorion vs random necromancers in a cave

In Resurrection three sorcerers boast how they revived Darth Maul:

(please log in to view the image)

The exact wording they use is "create" and "mold an individual in every way" which implies that the resurrection is more or less metaphorical; they didn't actually bring Maul back from the dead but rather spawned a facsimile via the dark side.

Consider: Darth Plagueis deemed the birth a Forceful being to be cosmic feat of unprecedented scope, and his attempts to do so were met with a firm retaliation from the Force:

Drunk on newfound power, then, he had attempted an even more unthinkable act: to bring into being a creation of his own. Not merely the impregnation of some hapless, mindless creature, but the birth of a Forceful being. The ability to dominate death had been a step in the right direction, but it wasn't equivalent to pure creation. And so he had stretched out - indeed, as if invisible, transubstantiated - to inform every being of his existence, and impact all of them: Muunoid or insectoid, secure or dispossessed, free or enslaved. A warrior waving a banner in triumph on a battlefield. A ghost infiltrating a dream.

But ultimately to no end.

The Force grew silent, as if in flight from him, and many of the animals in his laboratory succumbed to horrifying diseases.

(right before this he unbalances the Force with Sidious and suffuses the galaxy with the dark side - a cosmic feat of harrowing proportions in its own right - after which he revives Venamis ad nauseam by manipulating his midi-chlorians)

Given that to do what Plagueis attempted is a surefire way to attract the Force's anathema, it would seem like the prophets succeeded where Plagueis failed since they appear to have found a way around the Force's brute-force retaliations and actually created a Forceful being with a Force potential greater than Darth Sidious himself - Darth Maul. Granted, Plagueis did grow a lot after this point, so while the necromancers aren't necessarily more powerful than Darth Plagueis at his apex, they certainly have the power to outdo his earlier iterations.

[SPOILER - highlight to read]: We all know this to be true since that Maul totes wasn't an illusion, amirite?

This got me thinking how they would fare against Failkorion, someone now almost universally accepted to be beneath Plagueis. All combatants in their prime, Legends only, yada yada... all standard thread stipulations apply.

If this is spite then reduce the number of sorcerers to just one.

Seems like this thread can be titled Palpatine or ROTS Palpatine vs random necromancers in a cave also.

I beg to differ. For one, I never saw Failkorion demonstrate cosmic mastery on the same scope as these three.

Necromancers win by reviving Maul.

Maul was the biggest threat to the Jedi ever.

I discussed this with you and Ell on hangouts before, “cosmic mastery” is so utterly ambiguous as it pertains to a fight, especially in this context, (where it’s uncertain, and, honestly, probably completely wrong to assume they used midichlorian manipulation to will a forceful being into existence) that it’s almost impossible to draw any sort of pinpoint conclusion. It’s even more amusing when you consider that the Galactic Emperor himself could not replicate the feat of bringing a forceful being into existence, given that he couldn’t even preserve his own life/conquer death via MM.

There’s also the fact that they can only perform this creation/molding “if the hate is strong enough,” which sounds wildly different from midichlorian manipulation.

Granted, you’re probably trolling here, but I figured I’d respond anyways.

It's prob less ambiguous in how it correlates to Force power and mastery, and yet Valk's prob better at those proportional to his combat skill.

No, it's still pretty damn ambiguous. Unless the necromancers/Darth Plagueis have more power and mastery than DE Sidious, but that's your prerogative.

Well Sidious has other things going for him. It's a piece of the puzzle, not the complete picture, hence why these necromancers probably don't actually beat Valkorion.

Prophets...they're Prophets, not necromancers. >< But that said, while the Prophets are powerful both combatant wise and just general force wise...yeah they can't win here.

Calling them necromancers in the thread title also literally contradicts the OP smile

Some sources stating it's vague and one explicitly clarifying isn't contradictory.

But it still means that the prophets are masters of midichlorian manipulation!
