Renaissance

I don't know how many of you have heard of this film, but I'm hoping I am enlightening you to learn about and see it! big grin

Renaissance is a French-language animated "Cyberpunk"/science-fiction detective movie, co-produced in France, United Kingdom and Luxembourg, directed by Christian Volckman and released on March 15 2006 in France and September 22 2006 in film in USA by Miramax Films. The movie uses the motion capture technique to create a 3D universe, its quirkyness coming from the fact it is entirely black and white (except some few elements in color at the end of the movie). It shares some resemblance in looks with the Sin City comic books.

The action takes place in Paris in 2054. The expressways along the Seine river are enclosed in glass tunnels and huge lofts seem to float in the night. Ilona Tasuiev, a young scientist and employee of the powerful Avalon conglomerate, is kidnapped for reasons unknown. Inspector Karas is leading the search...

Looks really really cool!! I'm actually going to be viewing a screening of it thanks to Miramax at Comic-Con tomorrow night. We're also doing an interview with Marc Miance, the guy who came up with the "visual concept" and is working on this film. We'll have our interview up on Saturday. We'll have the movie review up tomorrow night, too. All of this can be found at our Comic-Con coverage link here: FirstShowing.net.

It looks really good. I just hope they don't screw up with the dubbing. But, they probably will.
