The Best Comic Story vs. The Same

This is not the usual thread.

Im interested in collecting the best comic book stories ever made, DC or Marvel.

I have some great comics but I'm sure I'm missing others that perhaps the public can awaken me to.

Each individual should include atleast one book, but if you wish you can make a top three of your choosing.

It doesn't matter if you see your selection on someone else's post, that would just validate that comic even more as one of the greats.

This is a thread for everyone and all choices are excepted.

wow fellas,

I did some reviewing of these titles, these are some well respected books.

Of the ones mentioned I have:

Watchmen - most amazing literature I have ever read in comics, but not my favorite comic book.

Crisis on Infinite Earths - incredible series. madness.

Kingdom Come - most amazing artwork I have ever seen, great great story.

Secret Wars(original) - probably my favorite comic book series.

I have other comics, but these where some of the one's yall mentioned that I have, I'll be looking forwward to reading every single extra title included here.

One thing though, are these other titles limited series editions, or entire Title runs?
For instance, I know Lucifer reaches 60 or 69, that's kewl, but there's titles out there in the hundreds, but some of these titles in the hundreds have a great run like New X-Men 114 - 154, which I proudly own compliments of a buddy.

any others you saw missing besides what you included?

No one mentioned Batman: Hush. That's one.

More often than not, you just need to look at the artists and writers of the pieces you already love, those people will impress you most times. Alan Moore, Alex Ross, George Perez, people like that on books will rarely if ever at all dissapoint.

The Ultimates (from Marvel's ultimate universe) is generally thought to be pretty kick-ass. I like even more than my beloved Spidey (Ultimate, not 616) so you know it's good. wink

well the ones i mentioned were not ongoing they were as either limited serises, grpahic novel or trade paperbacks though supreme power has changed to Squadren Supreme so maybe get that.
