Ideas for Comic Video Games

I was just thinking about different video games, based on comics, that I would love to see. First would be a GOOD fighting game. Or two.

I'd like to see one of more street-level type characters, in sort of a Mortal Kombat type engine, where they can switch styles and use a weapon now and then. My character picks:

Captain America
Moon Knight
Daredevil
Night Thrasher
Black Knight
Shang Chi
Iron Fist
Black Panther
Black Cat
Psylocke (with psi-blade, not telekinesis shit)
Wolverine maybe
Gambit
Hawkeye/Ronin
Black Widow
Elektra
Shen Kuei -- The Cat
Bloodwraith
Batroc
Bullseye
Bandit
Deadpool
Bengal
Constrictor
Tarantula (original and new maybe)
Killmonger
White Wolf
Justice (Josiah X)

Big cast, obviously a lot of obscure characters, I think if they focused on a better game, had a few big names like Cap and Wolverine to lure people in and then showed off some of the awesome, classic character designs and abilities with the game, well maybe they'd sell some more comics, and not just Avengers and X-Men.

I'd also like to see a higher-powered game, more reminiscient of the Dragonball Z games ( I suck at playing them, but the level set up and abilities would be more akin to it).

Silver Surfer
Thor
Beta Ray Bill
Firelord
Morg
Super-Skrull
Ronan
Hyperion
Dr. Spectrum
Gladiator
Xenith
Quasar
Captain Marvel
Sentry---just so you can trash him all the time
Iron Man?
Drax
Thanos
Ikaris
Sersi
Nova
Adam Warlock
Moondragon
Starhawk
Perun
Shatterstar (Arides, a Kree)
Paibok

And I think a Black Knight free roam game like the more recent Spider-Man games and Hulk: Ultimate Destruction would be pretty sweet. Armor and weapons afford him some nice abilities, and his pegasus Aragorn makes for easy transportation around New York City, London and wherever else they want to send him in the game.

How about a strategy/RPG game based on Sandman and Lucifer?

A regular fighting gaem is a bit too formulaic, imo.

The only thing I'd really like to see is something along the lines of the Ultimate Alliance game, but in a fully 3D environment. Think about the Spider-Man games, or Hulk: Ultimate Destruction....but throw in the whole Marvel universe.

Think of the insane bad-assery as you fight a friend in a deathmatch, Spider-Man vs. Hulk, in a fully rendered Manhattan. Like City of Heroes...except, well, good.

Wouldnt it be sorta like Marvel vs Capcom? Just....marvel vs marvel or DC vs DC, or my personal favorite a Marvel vs DC type game based on the MvsC one.

Yeah. I lost count of the times I've played one of the SM games and thought "Geez, how sweet would it be if they just included a vs. mode or something so it's Spidey vs. Spidey with real people controlling it?" Or playing Hulk: UD and thought "He'd kick video game Spidey's ass" but wanted to prove it. Then add more characters. Literally orgasmic. If they made the controls intelligent, the characters diverse (not like a fighting game) it would be my favorite game ever.

Like I said, I would want the fighting game to be more along the lines of current Mortal Kombat, or Virtua Fighter and Soul Caliber.

Nemesis was all messed up and maybe it would be formulaic, but I would just enjoy seeing a ton of Marvel characters culled into the theme.

The idea of an Ultimate Alliance crossed with Spider-Man or Hulk: Ultimate Destruction would be great. Ultimate Alliance was fun, but with superheroes, the greater immediacy of an action game, being fully in control of all moves and abilities, makes it more fun I think.

i thought superman returns and the hulk game a few years back had some good ideas...

basically GTA, but with superheroes... and massive online cities...

Isn't that game basically already coming out? Marvel Universe Online or something?

Probably. But in an attempt to make a balanced MMRPG, my guess is that it will feel like City of Heroes rather than the Spider-Man, Superman, and Hulk games pr and I mentioned. Most MMRPGs sacrifice gameplay for the sake of sociability and being accessible to non-hardcore gamers.

The trailer doesn't really show much, but it at least has some promise. If it lives up to my expectations, I might die from happiness.

dc has one as well, hopefully they'll allow us to play closed servers as actual characters, not just the public servers where we'll have to play as characters we've created...

i had played it before, and to be honest, i didnt like it, but i played through it and finished it... then i saw it cheap, so picked it up, brought it home and stuck in the cheats before loading it up... it was like a different game...

yes the standard fights were repetitive, but some parts were awesome...

blasting mongul with superbreath, sending him flying half way across the map through the air, then taking off after him, blasting him with heat vision as he falls to earth...

fighting bizarro high above metropolis, and using freeze breath on him to make him fall like a stone, then ramming him at full speed...

imagine doing the good stuff i mentioned, but as thor against iron man, or captain marvel against black adam, or surfer against sentry, or hal against sinestro? man, thats what i want...

yeah, you're right... i don't think we'll see a true 3d, no holds barred game any time soon... i'm sure they'll get something right though...

Damnit, now I'm pissed that the game doesn't exist.

Though I'm getting an XBox 360 at some point, so I'll likely end up buying MU: Online.

The closest I can think of is Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects... the biggest downfalls were the small environments, and everbody being brought down to street-level-ish, along with not-so-many unique moves and too few characters. Still, the brawling, in destructible environments, is probably some of the best we've seen for cross-overs in comic video games.

They are working on that as we speak.

Doom, Hulk, Spidey and Cap are confirmed characters.

I know, I posted the link above ( stick out tongue ).

I still harbor doubts though, and the game is still very much in early development. But it certainly has potential.
