I like to hate him He makes a good antagonist because he isn't enjoyable as a character so you want him to die. I feel the exact same way about Superman Prime
See, you're falling for Morrison's tricks...he wants you to hate the characer so if he were to decide to kill him everyone would go "W000t! Well done Morrison". He's a useless character. Damian have brought absolutely 0 value to the Batman series.
First it was speculate that Damian was going to be use as a vehicle to bring back Ra. That didn't work out. Then it was decided that he would be use as Tim's competition...that also didn't worked.
So now we're stuck with him until Morrison decides otherwise. If you desire antagonism...Talia is good enough. Her child isn't....
SMP on the other hand is someone you can hate since the begining...but feat after feat...he grows on you. Damian have brought no feats whatsoever. He's useless...pointless...and not interesting.
