Ares (justice)

After the awesome 5 part mini series featuring (marvel) Ares in 2006 we were finally treated to a series that had a great take on the character. Since then we have the Mighty Avengers version ( which is terrible) and the version for The Incredible Hercules ( very close). Will we see another series that can greatly take advantage and make him a great character again?

Thoughts.

Glad I'm not the only one that hates the Mighty version.

and unless we get Oeming back...no. Every other writer seems to be following the Bendis version of the character.

yeh oeming did the best version as he remembered that he is millenia old, so wise nd the best stratigist on earth, nd that he was the god of war meaning he is the best fighter on earth, so really he should be a team leader as he shits on cap (i still love cap thou)

After reading that series it became obvious that he can be a far more interesting character than his brother.

Honestly probably not.

At least not until they decide to either a) Give him his own series again, or b) have him become a regular in Hercules' book as a partner.

Right now they are content to have him be the namoresqe person on the Mighty Avengers.

Which sucks cause after reading his mini he has such good potential as a character. After reading his mini series for the first time I actually thought "God of War" instead of some superpowered Hercules-light person giving himself the title god of war.

Thor is the equal of Ares in experience, but often followed Captain America's leadership because he respected him. Steve's not around now, though. Ares is only tolerating the leadership of Miss Marvel & Iron Man because he's trying to change his nature a bit, where in the past he'd blow them off. He's getting his Avenger pay and is just willing to honour his bargain with Tony.
And what has Mike Oeming been doing since Omega Flight ended?
