I went to one and want to share. But why not make an official thread in the process, so we don't need new ones if others go to them?
Anyway: Lots of comics, costumes, weapons, figurines, photo ops, etc. etc. A great time for any dork. Don't think you're above such things and not go because it "isn't cool." It's awesome.
I was Golden Age Green Lantern, Alan Scott. It was nice because I was routinely recognized, but people also appreciated deviation from the norm (Jedi, Batman/Spider-Man, etc.). At least dozens of other cool costumes, and I went on the last (and least busy) day of the con.
Celebs:
Adam West (Batman in 70's TV series, Mayor of town in Family Guy, etc.)- Headlined the con. Seemed....not uninterested, but not enthusiastic. I was underwhelmed. He was also charging embarrassing rates for autographs. With free John Hancock's from most of the other stars (who were admittedly less popular) it seemed tacky. Pictures with him were reasonably low, so I indulged and got one, then had an awkward pic with him as he barely seem interested enough to look at the camera. Eh.
Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca) - 7 foot something monster of a man, with nearly as much hair as a regular wookie. Pleasant dude, though my one friend talked to him more than I did.
Jeremy Bulloch (Boba Fett) - Awesome guy. Amusing British accent. Things were dying down when we went up to him so he had some time to chat. It lasted about 20 minutes, and we actually hit it off. He knew who Alan was and had read a bunch of his Golden Age comics, so it was a great jumping off point. And he walked around as we chatted, saying amusing things to little kids and generally working the crowd even if they didn't know who he was. I have a nice pic with him as well.
Didn't chat with the others that were there much (mostly half-remembered actors/actresses from the Batman TV show or some sci-fi film/series). Though I made my friend do his Mick Jagger impersonation in front of Adam West, which he hated, so it was hilarious. Details on that here.
...
Anyway, I'll have pics of most of this up soon, including random tidbits like me with the original Batmobile.
Post your stories about cons if you have them. Otherwise, enjoy mine.
Yeah, I've been to Wizard World Chicago 4 or 5 times now. The first time we went they were filming Batman Begins downtown and we got to see the fuggin Tumbler driving around. The scene where the cops are chasing Bats through highway overpasses and such was filmed while we were on set. I have pics and some movies if anyone wants to see them.
That sounds cool. I'm sure people would love to see them posted if you have them on your cpu.
No camera phone. Sorry. It was epic though. I made it wonderfully dramatic, and my friend stood there speechless for like half a minute, giving me the death eye, while I explained to West what a great Jagger he did. It was beyond awful when he finally manned up and did it. West's reaction: "Was that it?!" made it even funnier.
I went to the NYCC for the first time this year and it rocked! Gurls in costumes all over the place (guys too). I would say that 95% of the people there was cool as hell. They didnt mind taking a picture with u. The action figures, statues, props were pretty awesome.
We didnt knew what to expect since it was out first and we end up missing a lot of stuff but now we know better and come next year, we'll be ready.
Some pics:
The legendary Jim Steranko! It was cool seeing this guy until he started screaming "No Pictures!". I guess he wanted us to pay $10 for a black and white. Little did he know, we had him already!
Lou "The Incredible Hulk" Ferrigno! Notice the hand sanitizer next to him. He would sanitize his hands every time a fan shook his hand. Were we infected Lou?
The reason the Empire lost!
We dont who or what she was supposed to be but she was too hot for us not to take pics with.
Gurls, gurls, gurls!

A google search for "video upload" may turn up alternatives.
And is that you in any of the photos? Either way, badass stuff. I have a pic of me with the Adam West Batmobile that I'll be posting, but of course nothing was being filmed at the time so it wasn't quite as nifty.
There were 6 of us in my group and we wanted to all get our picture with it, but we didn't want to push our luck since they were already letting us watch and take pictures. The one guy sitting on the tire is a GPD officer/stunt driver. We thought it was funny that the cops were wearing shorts. 2 of the videos I took I point the camera at my face then point it at the Tumbler in case anyone I knew didn't believe me.
I been going to San Diego Comic Con since 1998. I been attending Wizard World Los Angeles for the past 5 years. I been to the Phoenix convention only once in 04. I was at Ape and Wondercon only once three years ago. It's rather expensive going to San Francisco so I doubt if I go again in the future. There is also Fangoria fest in L.A a few times so if I have enough money I registrate. There is also the Anime Expo in O.C. but I rarely go.
Here is part one of this year's SDCC video I made.
part two

It must be good to live on the West coast. SDCC is the one I would like to go, at least once. Since I live on the East coast, it is easier said than done. Hopefully NYCC will grow as big as the SDCC one day.

Yeah, there's not really many near me. Other than the one I went to (which I don't think is annual), there's one about 3 hours from me every year and otherwise I'd be driving 10+ hours to anything else.
Interesting videos WD. Not enough crazy people in costumes though ( ).
Im lucky im only a hour from NY. Im hoping they bring back the Boston Comic Con. Im about 2 hrs from there but only heard of them doing it once. NYCC is our yearly one but would like to attend more.

Digi .... I don't see a ring and your mask looks .... not great.
I hope to see some bling in your halloween pics and you could at least trim the mask with scissors to closer resemble a GL domino mask (or use some type of wax/face paint instead)
