Is this true about Gladiator?

A lot of things has been said about glads but due to poor writing or just plain good luck gladiator has had some bad showings. Lately the writter has been writing him where he should be at BUT the thing about this is that he has been mentioned by the narrotor/writer as being the most powerful being in the universe.

I made this thread due to hyperbole but its a LOT of hyperbole that has been mentioned throughout his career.

Do you think that his hyperbole is true because its kind of hard to deny.

This scan calls him a god

This scan states that he has unlimited strength and from what we have seen he really doesnt have a limit

Professor x files states that he has the power to do anything when he put his mind to it

Nova states that he is the strongest being in the universe.

The xmen stated again that he's one of the strongest being in the galaxy.

States again that his power is unmatched by any being in the universe.

Could all of this be true if you dont count his low showings. (this will be closed soon).

no. you think the last one can POSSIBLY be true? you think glads>thanos? or . . . a thousand other 'cosmic' beings?

is he a god? he's in thor's class of power.

he's ONE of the strongest. sure.

he has ALMOST unltd strength. so does hulk, thor.

he's ONE of the strongest in the universe. so is hulk and thor.

so . . . yeah. all of that could be true and STILL not mean his poor showings were pis or anything else. all of that only means he is in a class with hulk and thor and many other mid-high heralds.

none of that is anything new. erm

When has it ever been mentioned that thor has unlimited strength.

I dont know what glads could do against anything over high herald since he hasnt fought anyone in that ball park yet. We do know one thing though, glads is one shotting almost everyone that he encounters, even an amped black bolt and vulcan and since we have a better writer for him we dont know where his rampage is going to end.

i never said it WAS said he had unltd strength. just that he has 'nearly' unltd strength based on his showings. herc has held the firmament--something far and away greater than anything glads has done, but i know glads is still in herc's class of strength. hulk has been said many times to have truly "unlimited" strength. so going by that, hulk is stronger than glads since glads only has 'nearly' unltd.

use his showings. none of those scans matter in the least. feats, not hearsay, is used on the forums.

the tricky thing about gladiator is that to date there hasnt been an object big enuff that needed lifting to "show" how strong he realy is. of course, like anybody else i'll blame the writers.even the new take that they are now establishing on him....i dont understand why they keep showing him as beatable if he doubts himself... he is very much like the viltrumites in the Image universe where he's from a race of ppl who are naturally powrful...ergo thier skin, bone, and muscle tissue are naturally dense to afford them super STR and invulnerablity....but his "natural" powers are boosted even further by his self confidence.... and as we have seen in the new back up stories that came out last week and this week those chosen to be gladiators are bio augmented to a even more ridiculous extent..so a moment of self doubt shouldnt cause him to be vulnerable all of a sudden so someone could hurt him...the same way that one alien dude broke his arm cuz he took him by surprise What the f**k?

Hyperbole is thrown around in every other issue ever in comics. It's nothing new. Add up, say, Superman's hyperbole and he's probably equal to God himself.

Now, if you want to discuss this further, use the questions thread or tiers thread. It doesn't need its own.
