Weekly Comics Reviews ~~ Official Thread.

Tell us what comics you've read this week, what you liked and didn't like, and how do they stack up against other releases. Give ratings, if you wish to do so, but more importantly, do not resume your reply to simple ranking or rating, but expand your answer by posting your thoughts, preferably not in 1-2 lines, about the issue(s) in question.

I actually like this idea for a thread. It will make selecting which comics I want to read WAY easier. thumb up

I can't say there was anything in particular I was looking forward to reading this week.... Maybe Booster Gold, but even that wasn't very good. Siege was worth reading though.

I remember that thread. thumb up

It wasn't technically a 'weekly' comics thread, but I suppose it was the same general concept.

If there's anything I'd recommend this week, it's Brave & Bold 32, which has constantly been a very good comic ever since JMS took over. This issue has been featuring Aquaman and Etrigan, in a self-contained, nearly-perfect team-up little story.

The premise is fairly simple -- Whitford Crane, a fisherman, seemingly has a boat accident while on the sea, only to discover that it's much more than he could have imagined. The fact that it's presented through the eyes of a person that is nothing special except for the fact that he got dragged in the unfolding events through unfortunate circumstances was a nice touch, and I felt it enhanced the story, first and foremost Aquaman -- who was perfectly portrayed in this issue. Saiz's art is breathtaking and incredibly expressive.

Other than that, there've been some issues that I enjoyed soley for the 'cool factor', like Green Lantern Corps 46 or Siege #3, Titans #23 for the sense of nostalgia, if not for anything else and Green Arrow 31 which depicts Ollie's detachment from his old ways and even friends, and I'm fairly interested how this will all wrap-up considering he's got a new on-going coming up in the summer.
