To start off, let's kneel and pray for the death of Jeph Loeb who started this whole mess. His Superman/Batman with all its pretty pictures has turned Darkseid in the eyes of comic readers to be as much of threat as Green Goblin.
The purpose of this thread is to show how ridiculously powerful Darkseid is.
Note that there is no such difference between Pre/Post Crisis Darkseid. They are the same person. Like the GL Corps, he survived the Crisis with no ill effects.
Wipe out everything you think you know about Darkseid and begin anew. Again NO CREDIT GOES TO ME. It all goes to JIMMY SAN.
First, we'll start with Darkseid casually disintegrating a Pre-Crisis Daxamite:
Here is Darkseid stunning Kalibak, the same Kalibak who was barely fazed by three consecutive, window-shattering punches from The Supermen of America's Brahma, said to have Superman level strength, and Darkseid accomplishes the task of TKOing Kalibak with a casual backhand:
Here, just being near Omega Beams (Darkseid later confirmed that 'Seid was operating at less than full-power when he did this, coming off of the Doomsday attack to his person) burned Superman's arms:
Here's Darkseid with a casual blast of The Omega Beams sending Superman flying out of control, grunting, and stunned, with GL and Plas freaking out, trying to cushion his landing as to prevent harm from befalling him, with Supes staying down for several panels, as Darkseid struts off, smiling. Martian Manhunter states that Superman is unharmed, but attributes that to the fact that Darkseid merely wanted to goad The JLA into battle, not to hurt Superman:
Darkseid, after being weakened by expending his Omega Beams on destroying Imperiex, and being drained by Braniac 13, still proves superior to Superman in strength and energy weilding levels, before shrugging off a Supes punch, blasting him into a wall, and it being interrupted:
Another time, summoned by Highfather, Superman arrivs on New Genesis, attempts to attack Darkseid, and is stopped by his Omega Beams (held back as Darkseid needed Superman unharmed for his plans), which blast him for three panes before he collapses, limp, and TKOed, Highfather being concerned for his safety (the writer later confirmed Darkseid could've easily killed Supes if he wanted):
Here, Darkseid TKOes Doomsday, rendering him helpless and beaten for the time being, with one blast, and leaves him buried under rubble, which he then liquifies, via Omega Beams, and walks off as it dries. While DD eventually revives, after it's dried, and takes some revenge on Darkseid via a sneak attack, the writer of this scene and Doomsday's creator has stated that he had in mind that Darkseid would defeat Doomsday 15/20 when he made this scene:
In Super Powers vol.2 #6, Darkseid, with a wave of his hand, projected his power through a hologram of himself, and effortlessly defeated Superman, Martian Manhunter, Green Lantern, and multiple other heroes --- Jack Kirby himself collaborated on this scene:
It was strongly implied and basically outright stated in a roundabout way in New Gods#15 that all pre-JKFW Darkseid losses were avatars, and that the "true" Darkseid likely can't lose on the physical plane:
In Anarky's series, Blasfemy, a demon powerful enough to stand up to Etrigan in a slugfest, and actualy hurt Etrigan with his energy blasts. as well as take Etrigan's physical and energy-based assualts without being KOed, even when his arms were pinned, was introduced:
Despite this power, when faced by a Darkseid avatar, described in this issue as merely one aspect of Darkseid's omnipotent being (and in the past a small extrusion of a part of his nearly infinite energy), Blasfemy's energy blast does absolutely nothing to the avatar, as he effortlessly walks through it, picks Blasfemy up by the neck, Blasfemy struggling with both arms futiley to break his grip, and decapitates him with a single close range blast from The Omega Beams:
From Stern's Superman run, when Superman challenges Darkseid, saying "Over my dead body!" after hearing of his schemes, Darkseid traps Superman in the ground for several panels with his Omega Beams, further stating "Do not TEMPT me, Superman", as if he could easily kill Supes if he desired it so:
Darkseid's teleportation beams have been confirmed by Sleez, the first to know their touch, as wipeout beams which reintoduce the recipient into existence elsewhere qickly after the wipeout, as when he stated, "For an instant that seemed an eternity, I was less than nothing. But I was not destroyed. Instead, I found myself transported":
Heck, even when The Forever People were time displaced by them, it was stated that they exist, but no THERE, at the time Darkseid was in, as if their very existences were erased from their proper time (before Highfather's Alpha Bullets undid this). When Secret's powers were taken away by Darkseid, they appeared to not be drained, but rather erased, and we actually see her entire timeline flash by as The Omega Effect hits. After this, she is a normal, mortal girl, and Darkseid says The Omega Effect can be manipulated in many ways, as he did when teleporting The Forever People to different times.
What does this have to do with power, you ask? Well, as those he teleports can thus be wiped from existence by him for good just as easily if he wishes it so, let's take a look at some of those he has casually teleported across time and space with them ...
These would include a group of powerul young New Gods known as The Forever People:
Yet, when Darkseid gets POed, she gets on her knees, kisses ass as she's never kissed ass before, admits she KNOWS that he can easily destroy her, and that she fears him, yet states that she also respects and admires him, and begs him to spare her life and grant her the favor he promised for the return of Orion:
Here is Yuga Khan, who M'onel (a being who's confronted Superman, Mordru, Lobo, etc.) said was, by far, the most powerful being he ever encountered, and who was said to be able to end civilizations with an eye blink, plus cut off all New Gods from The Source, easily bested New Genesis' armies, and absorbed the life energy of entire planets to get back up to full power after his release from The Source Wall, in a conversation with Highfather. He is Darkseid's father. When Highfather states how someone will find him and kill him for his attempts at breaching The Source Wall, before he was trapped, he states that no being in existence, save his own son, has power even remotely approaching his own, and adds that sons can never kill their fathers, implying that Darkseid actually has the raw power neccessary to kill Yuga Khan, if you remove the father/son clause:
Here's an other image where Darkseid explains that he IS the revelation; the tiger-force at the heart of creation. While this doesn't exactly mean much as far as battle goes, it's still a cool scene and I sure as heck wouldn't want to get into a scrap with a guy possessing that title:
Darkseid has handidly defeated The Infinity Man, who possess the powers of The Forevor People (strength, speed, magnetism, TK, flight, elemental control, intangibility, mental powers, energy blasts) combined and amplified, in a similar relationship to that of Captain Planet and The Planeteers. Orion has admitted The Infinity Man more powerful, and he appeared to be at LEAST as powerful as Captain Marvel, if not moreso, during Panic in The Sky, PLUS he easily defeated multiple Gravi-Gaurds, when a single one proved capable of defeating Superman. Darkseid banishes him from our realm and traps him (for months) in weird and unique part of the universe, placing there with him with a barrier I-M can't budge. It isn't until The Forevor People use their special connection to summon him after he mentally contacts him that he's able to be brought back to our plane, to help them battle Devilance the Persuer:
Next time they meet, Superman is having trouble with one of Darkseid's automatons. His heat vision has no effect on it, and it restrains him with minimal effort. Then The Infinity Man is summoned by The forevor People. He easily destroys the automaton, freeing Sueprman, with a single blast. Afterwards, a punch from both of them levels another. the, Darkseid teleports and traps each with his Omega Beams (and a reference is made to the Kirby issues of Forever People, further proof that Crisis never affected The New Gods, plus Supeman stating The OE is took quick for him to dodge), before banishing I-M one more with The Omega Effect, stating that he can't resist the Omega energies, bringing fourth The Forever People. Soon after, he teleports Supes and The Forevor People away, before they're intercepted by Highfather:
In Lobo's Greatest Hits, the JLA-bashing, Superman-stalemating/sometimes bashing, Despero-hurting, M'onel-stalemating, Captain Marvel stalemating, WW-pimpslapping, Etrigan-stalemating Lobo punches Darkseid at super-speed to no effect, save to hurt Lobo's hands, before Darkseid shrugs him off, and wipes him from existence with The Omega Beams, or begins to at least, before a time warp clause inside a black hole saves him:

In Hunter/Prey, after Darkseid's powers have recuperated, he finds Superman on the ropes against an Apokoliptian tech-amped Cyborg Superman, and decides he's had enough, obliterating Cyborg's body and encapsulating his life-force with a single blast from The Omega Effect:
The Firepits of Apokolips were established as a mere extension of Darkseid's power in an issue of Wonder Woman (plus he was going to destroy B13/Imperiex enhanced Warworld, and all knew he could, before he was warned that Imperiex would escape if he did):
HOWEVER Pre-Crisis/Post-Crisis Darkseid are one and the same. There's no difference. Darkseid didn't even NOTICE the Crisis until just before it ended. And he was merely annoyed with it.
After Darkseid absrbed the power of so many Pantheons he killed across the universe, even Odin seemed wary of his power, stating to The Asgardian Pantheon that it was beyond their ability to reckon:
And if you think they're much weaker than Marvel's version, this Odin created a pocket universe, and Darkseid, while destroying other Pantheons wholesale, FEARED Odin up until JKFW#4, where he had gained enough power to defeat Odin. Also, DC Thor fought the Wonder Woman-level Big Barda, it being a breif stalemate with him holding the obvious edge, and Mr. Miracle states that Barda can't stand up to Thor long before her inevitable defeat (he then interferes and takes Thor out himself with his newfound God powers which gave him team-wrecking status before he gave them up). That she was even able to stand up to him as long as she did was stated as a testament to her mettle, despite being outclassed in power by Thor.
Also, DC Odin banished DC Surtur to his pocket universe, where he stalemated the combined JSA, including the Skyfather-level Thunderbolt:
This is Darkseid's battle with and defeat of Orion after Highfather returned Orion's full power, true form, and life essence into the clone mockery Darkseid had made of him, from The Great Darkness Saga's conclusion (both ere slightly weakened):
During The Hunger, Darkseid used his matter and energy manipulation abilities to create and empower automatons with the strength to stagger Galactus, hungry as he was, and 'Seid did it with nothing more than a thought:
Darkseid also easily defeated the Silver Surfer and flayed off some of his silver skin, prompting him to scream in agony, with one blast of The Omega Beams:
To add to that, Darkseid blasted Galactus with The Omega Effect wipeout beams, and they appeared to be working, erasing his form completely on the first panel and turning him to pure energy, before he appeas to counter The OE's effects with his power or his importance, and is faded but no longer erased on the next panel, admitting afterwards that Darkseid's power is great, then he's back to normal on the third, blasting Darkseid away, which hurts but doesn't KO 'Seid:
During GDS, Darkseid proved capable of teleporting Apokolips and Daxam at once, holding them literally in his mind as they're switching locations and galaxies, and mind-controlling 3 billion Daxamites:
Also, after the Orion fight, Darkseid defeated a powered-up Pre-Crisis Superboy and was about to defeat a powered-up Pre-Crisis Supergirl, while holding back, so as to not exert so much energy that he lost his control of the Daxamites, as he tells Kara ("I have not the strength to waste on such as you"), ebfore it's interrupted by the combined Legion of Super-Heroes simultaneously blasting him, which he shrugs off:
Darkseid easily defeated Raker Quarrigat, the greatest Green Laantern of his age (the Hal Jordan of his time, bare in mind he defeated Klibak FAR easier than Hal did, granted a rookie Hal, but Hal was still stated as signifigantly more powerful than Kyle there), catching a GL-energy powered punch from Raker, and crushing his hand, sending him scurrying off to The Gaurdians, and intimidating him so that he beleived even they stood no chance against him:
Later, Raker seeks out a rematch. He attacks Darkseid with a special weapon, utilizing his superior speed, and car
ries him into the air. Darkseid is unharmed, however, and talk as it happens. He charges up his Omega Effect, which is blocked by a GL construct. Te construct is strecthed, and bursts before the OE's power, sending them both to the floor. Raker attacks Darkseid whiel they're down there, again failing to hurt him and gets so desperate that he goes for a shovel, Darkseid charging up his OE to wipe Raker from existence, before The Gaurdians interfere using a force feild:
A scene in Walt's Orion series later had Darkseid confirm that he could've easily killed Raker while he was on Apokolips at any time, but tolerated his existence, as he's useful :
Here, Orion sucker-attacks Darkseid, but to no avail, as Darkseid quickly regains his bearings, and trades evenly for a panel (before they fall into --- and survive --- the Firepits):
When Kalibak had The Belt of Strength, Orion indicates he's now as strong but not as skilled as Darkseid, saying he has Darkseid's fury, but not his control, which, while semi-ambiguous, is likely a statement of physicality, as he was describing Kalibak's new power at the time, and compares it to Darkseid's strength:
In Mr. Miracle's series, Darkseid, at giant size, destroyed planets via RESIDUAL energy, and while some have claimed it's "symbolic", there's no more proof for it being symbolic han for Odin and Seth's galaxy-busting being symbolic:
During Crisis, Darkseid sheilded The New Gods' continuum from its effects and ensured its survival by chanelling his Omega Beams through Alex Luthor, who acted as a conduit between Apokolips and the normal DC continuum, with Darkseid's tech (his "science") allowing him to shoot Omega Beams ("gaze") through Alex's eyes at The Anti-Monitor. The Anti-Monitor is dying, afterwards, y his own admission. He's also weakened to the point where Superman destroys him with one punch, when before, all of the heroes combined couldn't dent him and he defeated The Spectre:
Together, Darkseid and Highfather managed to bust The Source Wall (a feat which later took the combined might of Highfather, Zeus, Odin, Jupiter, and Ares to reproduce--- and that's while The Source Wall was weakened ...!):
Darkseid frees The Legion and Dark Superman from a trap they couldn't even dent by waving his hand, then defeats Dark Orion and his older, granite self:
From Genesis, Darkseid defeats and imprisons a powered-up Ares who was owning all of DC's heroes at once (even overpowering Takion), by trapping him in an energy feild which hardened time and space themselves, as the gigantic Ares is attempting to seize Darkseid's armada:
Powergirl admits that even the combined JLA and JSA was not powerful enough to defeat Darkseid himself (though they did defeat his minions and thus thwart his plans):
Here, Darkseid manhandles Metron, who's been shown to be about twice as strong as an average New God of The Celestial City, and who hasn tken Captain Atom blast to no effect:
Darkseid projects his dark essence into The Source, and forces it to open itself to him, as his very essence causes it agony, which, taken at base value, appears at least a skyfather-level feat:
Darkseid effortlessly blocks a blast from Atinai, daughter of Highfather, who built The Celestial City, and easily stalemated two Supertown New Gods at once with one hand:
I hope this gives you some clarifications about how truly powerful Darkseid is. Don't buy into the 'Superman beating Darkseid" crap. This thread clearly shows that the writers were bull****ing us.
While Darkseid's weakened in Hunter/Prey, Superman is unable, in two pages, to even dent some special Apokoliptian missiles from Darkseid's defense systems --- Darkseid steps in and instantly annihiliates them with Omega Beams, Superman statiung he'd never seen anything like Darkseid's Omega Beams before:
Darkseid sends The Outsiders, including The Eradicater, flying throguh a Boom Tube with the wave of a hand, and they remark of how easily he disosed of them, indicating his much greater power (he also teleported a city back):
Darkseid effortlessly sends Slobo hurtling one million months into the future, turned to a stone statue, and tranforms the Despero-busting, YJ-matching Secret into a normal, mortal, powerless girl:
All of the mortal heroes are in awe of the size and power of a star-ship Darkseid created, stated to be bigger than the state of New York, and he states that he built it with "a tiny fraction" of his power:
