There's going to be a set number of recommendations in this forum. We're going to collectively determine which ones deserve it, then to get a recommendation you have to show that a thread is better than one of the existing recommended threads.
Because we're getting a lot of good threads, and I don't have the time to search through everything and be constantly adding recommended threads. Eventually there would be too many recommendations, and it would barely mean anything.
I'm thinking:
- 4 Indie Recommendations Max
- 10 DC
- 12 Marvel
Marvel: Alpha Flight (and satellite threads), Hercules, Hulk, Namor, Dr. Strange, Spider-Man, Thor, Adam Warlock, Thanos, X-Man, Magneto, Iron Fist
...
There's an open slot in DC. We don't need to fill it, but it's there. Indie also has 2 possible openings. As for Marvel, it's on a loose "challenge" system from here on out. If you want a thread on, you have to "beat" one of the others.
I won't be the final judge...too much work, and I do enough on these forums already. People can discuss things here and I'll make the necessary changes if it seems like there's some sort of consensus.
Only ifyou think they're as good as or better than the current ones, and desreving of a recommendation. Then people will discuss long enough to determine the validity of the claim, and I'll make changes as necessary.
I want recommendations to mean something...not just have too many.
And if this doesn't work and is a failed experiment, I'll just close it and go back to the old system....so no harm done either way.

Alright I was just looking at what might go wrong.
Since I seem to be asking questions I have one more.
Will people that start the threads be able to request that you make an edit for them when they are unable? (ie to add an opening pic or organize some of the posts)?

Well, technically they've always been able to, but it has to be within reason. I'm not the respect forum lackey, cleaning up messes whenever someone wants to improve something.
And re-launches to streamline threads are great too, so long as all scans from the thread (from all pages) are included, and credit is given where it's needed. Because many threads would be exponentially better if the scans from say, 18 pages, were condensed into 1 page.
My Spectre thread should be recommended, and if one thread should be bumped then it'll be the Capt Atom one.It has a dead link and a few extra scans that's it.
My thread has about 500 scans and well organized for easy browsing. The thread pretty much shows everything about Spectre not just feats.
Here's a few post from those who actually looked through it.
Darthgoober and I are co-op'ing on a pretty nice He-Man thread at the moment. Might not be recommendation-worthy, but it'll be nice nonetheless.
I'll take a look at Spectre skeets....
And no to Rorschach. I love Watchmen, and the thread is nicely done. But he just has too limited a showing for it to be worth a recommendation, especially when there's at least 1 or 2 others in the indie department that do as nice a job, or better.
