Death’s Head II (aka Minion)

Bio: http://www.marvunapp.com/Appendix/dhminion.htm
Picture: http://img133.imageshack.us/my.php?...thshead2cj7.jpg
Origin & Description: The “Minion” cyborg was created by the A.I.M. corporation (Advanced Idea Mechanics) in the year 2020. The pre-cognitive division of AIM had foreseen a great threat to AIM’s safety (later revealed to be the character Charnel). DHII was created to stop him.

To do this, DHII was programmed to assimilate the “instincts” (skills, mannerisms, memories, etc.) of 106 of the deadliest people in the galaxy throughout time (AIM could time-jump). Among the people he assimilated were the original Death’s Head and the entire information cache of Reed Richards’ computer (616 universe, circa 1992). Thus, he has the combined combat skill of countless warriors, as well as Reed’s scientific knowledge and many others.

The personality of the original Death’s Head became the dominant personality when he was assimilated (due to his cyborg nature), thus the name “Death’s Head II”. Not all of the original’s personality traits survived, but the guiding instincts and thoughts are those of the original DH.

Related Bios:
A.I.M. - http://www.marvunapp.com/Appendix/drnecker.htm#2020
Charnel - http://www.marvunapp.com/Appendix/charneld.htm
Dr. Evelyn Necker - http://www.marvunapp.com/Appendix/drnecker.htm

General Information:

This is a personnel file on “The Minion Project” at A.I.M. It’s handy because it offers a quick description of the majority of DHII’s powers and abilities.
http://img69.imageshack.us/my.php?image=00ja5.jpg

Death’s Head II tells his brief history in his own words to his eventual partner, Tuck.
http://img408.imageshack.us/my.php?image=31cg6.jpg

Here we see the birth of Charnel, a mixture of the original Death’s Head’s body and the magical power of Baron Von Strucker. Charnel later becomes a herald (or greater) level being. He also kills Death’s Head’s (original) partner Spratt.

Strength:

Overpowers The Thing
http://img442.imageshack.us/my.php?image=24yw7.jpg
http://img250.imageshack.us/my.php?image=25jk6.jpg

KO’ing Johnny Storm in 1 panel
http://img408.imageshack.us/my.php?image=26xc7.jpg

Strength feat: Here he is fighting an ugly baddy, and punches him hard enough into a stone pillar the size of a large building, and knocks it down.
http://img183.imageshack.us/my.php?image=e1ru7.jpg
http://img250.imageshack.us/my.php?image=e2ng2.jpg

Fighting a duplicate of himself. Same physical specs, but less fighting skill. Knocks him clear through a building.
http://img62.imageshack.us/my.php?image=e3hj7.jpg

Slicing through a heavily-armored tank (courtesy of King_Mungi)
http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/...rkGuard0207.jpg
http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/...rkGuard0208.jpg

The metal baddy that Killpower (see: roughly equal to mortal Hercules) couldn’t take out, and who shrugged off a stone building falling on top of him, DH owns with his arm-blade.
http://img443.imageshack.us/my.php?image=bt24zj6.jpg
http://img466.imageshack.us/my.php?image=bt25hn0.jpg
http://img443.imageshack.us/my.php?image=bt26hj1.jpg

Possibly his best strength feat ever! They had just crashed a spaceship into the bad guy’s mothership. DH then lifts the freaking ship and tosses it on some henchmen. Judging just by the sheer size of the thing, and it’s metal composition, this easily puts him in the 100-Ton range.

Durability/Healing:

An alternate-history Wolverine breaks a claw trying to hurt DHII. There's speculation about it not being true adamantium, or weakened somehow (Charnel's magics, most likely), but it isn't backed up by the comics, which only states it to be adamantium.
http://img249.imageshack.us/my.php?image=41mh1.jpg

Durability feat vs. Charnel. Gets blasted to hell, heals a bit, and is basically just pissed. This was immediately after Charnel had killed Rhino and She-Hulk, to put it in perspective.
http://img267.imageshack.us/my.php?image=42te4.jpg
http://img444.imageshack.us/my.php?image=43uj0.jpg
http://img444.imageshack.us/my.php?image=44xz8.jpg

This is both a good and bad feat. He’s fighting 616 Wolverine. Bad: Logan cuts his hand-weapon clean off. Good: he regrows it completely in about 4 panels. Keep in mind, his arm is made of a different substance than his body (liquid molybdenum) so it’s doubtful he could replicate this feat for his entire body.
http://img264.imageshack.us/my.php?image=b1xo9.jpg
http://img183.imageshack.us/my.php?image=b2pi2.jpg

Tuck blasts some grapefruit-sized holes in DH to kill a virus he had. He heals from the wounds in about 3 panels.
http://img466.imageshack.us/my.php?image=die1hh0.jpg
http://img128.imageshack.us/my.php?image=die2ny7.jpg

Another good healing feat. Die Cut had practically cut him in half. Death’s Head, to remain darkly ironic, begins reforming himself around Die Cut…and is fully healed in about a page or so.
http://img263.imageshack.us/my.php?image=die3sw7.jpg
http://img267.imageshack.us/my.php?image=die4qw5.jpg
http://img263.imageshack.us/my.php?image=die5by4.jpg
…honestly, all he begins to reform is his arm, so we again have no on-panel evidence that he could do this with is entire body. Still impressive though.

Shrugging off bullet/laser wounds:

Speed/Skill:

Punks and then assimilates a 4-armed barbarian named Lehdrox, for his fighting skill and aggression.
http://img411.imageshack.us/my.php?image=13ul2.jpg
http://img106.imageshack.us/my.php?image=14ku6.jpg
http://img258.imageshack.us/my.php?image=15yc4.jpg
http://img258.imageshack.us/my.php?image=16yw8.jpg

Here he displays some impressive running speed, matching speed with a car that Reed had floored the gas pedal
http://img340.imageshack.us/my.php?image=21dw6.jpg

Skill feat: An Iron Man-type with some martial arts skill (I think his name is Switchblade….anyway, he’s not a no-name baddy at least). DH shows him the ropes in about 4 panels, then punts him about a mile.
http://img338.imageshack.us/my.php?image=j1sx0.jpg
http://img259.imageshack.us/my.php?image=j2ju9.jpg

Minor skill feat. DH casually ruins some would-be assassin monks.
http://img72.imageshack.us/my.php?image=bt11pe1.jpg
http://img466.imageshack.us/my.php?image=bt12sr1.jpg

Minor speed feat: While shooting his blaster cannon, it’s drawn twice in the same panel as he whips it around to shoot multiple opponents.
http://img72.imageshack.us/my.php?image=bt21er8.jpg

Awesome speed feat. Stabs about 100 maggot-looking things in a single panel.

Battles:

Defeating and assimilating the original Death’s Head:

http://img401.imageshack.us/my.php?image=19mo1.jpg

http://img408.imageshack.us/my.php?image=24ni4.jpg
http://img250.imageshack.us/my.php?image=25jk6.jpg
…Thing gets some shots in, and even disables DHII’s blaster, but it’s clear that Minion wins.

A couple of no-name mutants, look to be copies of Human Torch and Marrow. Anyway, they get owned.
http://img264.imageshack.us/my.php?image=a1kg3.jpg
http://img444.imageshack.us/my.php?image=a2nj9.jpg
http://img403.imageshack.us/my.php?image=a3fx8.jpg

Just some fun. After seeing a weapons cache, he turns his arm-weapon into a battle axe. Also punks a Loch Ness Monster thing.

…it was brought to my attention that these are robots of Cap and Logan, not the real thing.

Before the next fight, a display of Killpower’s strength from Battle Tide #3. He stalemates mortal Herc in an arm-wrestling contest until they accidentally break the table.
http://img466.imageshack.us/my.php?image=bt31yx3.jpg
http://img72.imageshack.us/my.php?image=bt32pn0.jpg

A fight with Killpower, after teleporting directly to his location. DH gets the better of the fight and is poised to kill Killpower when they both get kidnapped.
http://img466.imageshack.us/my.php?image=bt13ed8.jpg
http://img72.imageshack.us/my.php?image=bt14dg3.jpg
http://img72.imageshack.us/my.php?image=bt15nf6.jpg
http://img466.imageshack.us/my.php?image=bt16pb0.jpg

Death’s Head II and Killpower vs. The Hulk. Killpower jobs like mad. DH does main duty for this. He loses the initial encounter (but gets some shots in). But he gets back from space a few pages later and stomps Hulk with only minimal help from Killpower.

Misc. Feats:

Absorbing someone’s instincts/personality with his cranial siphon:
http://img69.imageshack.us/my.php?image=11xg9.jpg

Death’s Head tries to fight him, but Minion teleports away. We later learn that this is built in to Minion, it’s not AIM teleporting him around.
http://img442.imageshack.us/my.php?image=12jq0.jpg

A teleport, both temporal and spatial (he time travels and teleports) under his own power from Reed’s lab.
http://img249.imageshack.us/my.php?image=27kp5.jpg

In these scans, Rogue tries to absorb his power. Instead, she gets a taste of 106 personalities inside of DH and goes into shock.
http://img403.imageshack.us/my.php?image=a5ol1.jpg
http://img19.imageshack.us/my.php?image=a6uk9.jpg

He’s basically immune to telepathy because of having 106 personalities within him. Here he shrugs off a psi-spike in the brain from Psylocke, saying toothpicks would hurt more.
http://img341.imageshack.us/my.php?image=b3zd5.jpg

DH’s arm can morph into a few different forms (laser cannon, cranial siphon, a blade configuration that is particularly sharp, etc.). Here he uses a variation off of the blade configuration and makes himself 2 blade-hands. It’s a total of about 8 claws on one hand. Cool stuff.
http://img366.imageshack.us/my.php?image=c1ns0.jpg

Enhanced hearing
http://img413.imageshack.us/my.php?image=n1er3.jpg
http://img340.imageshack.us/my.php?image=n2ik3.jpg

Given about a minute or so to analyze and adjust his attack frequency, he can bypass the shields of technology-based shielding:
First matchup:
http://img256.imageshack.us/my.php?image=p1ix6.jpg
http://img256.imageshack.us/my.php?image=p2uh7.jpg
Round 2:
http://img118.imageshack.us/my.php?image=p3zz4.jpg
http://img171.imageshack.us/my.php?image=p4su1.jpg

Confirms that the teleportation tech is his own, and informs us that the Battle World tech collars are blocking his teleportation.
http://img466.imageshack.us/my.php?image=bt22hm9.jpg

This is an impressive feat for his blaster arm-configuration. The spread of his energy output takes out about half a dozen people.
http://img262.imageshack.us/my.php?image=mys2kf2.jpg
http://img185.imageshack.us/my.php?image=mys3dy3.jpg

Death’s Head fighting in a facility that is –60 degrees Celsius, with no trouble. I did the math for us Americans: it’s –76 degrees Farenheit.
http://img440.imageshack.us/my.php?image=bttwo1rx3.jpg

Just some determination and pain tolerance as he nears death (he is impaled on a spiky rock and claws his way off it).
http://img250.imageshack.us/my.php?image=gold1ov8.jpg

Displays his ability to share information with other technology. It’s a kind of “cyber-telepathy” skill (it’s also detailed in his A.I.M. bio at the beginning of this section).
http://img250.imageshack.us/my.php?image=gold2tq0.jpg
http://img250.imageshack.us/my.php?image=gold3zt9.jpg

A cool black & white picture of DHII and Punisher. There was a limited series slated with these two, but it never got published to my knowledge.
http://img115.imageshack.us/my.php?image=pic1ed5.jpg

And no respect thread for a character this cool would be complete without a Pimp Slap!
http://img115.imageshack.us/my.php?image=pslaplg2.jpg

Good stuff, but didn't in his recent handbook entry [A-Z Handbook] state his body is made out of the same material of his hand? Pretty sure it did.

Possibly, but the A.I.M. bio I posted from one of his early comics would disagree with that. The arm is made from molebdenum, while his body is reinforced titanium plating. Maybe they either retconned that bit, or just forgot...but the clear distinction made between the versatility of his arm and the rest of his body would suggest that the majority of writers treated them as seperate substances.

And thanks. I was hoping to be able to wait longer to post this, since I was rooting for leo in the tourney (largely because of DHII). But still, I'm happy it's done and posted.

There has to be another bio as years ago when I did collect Death's Head way back when stated the same thing he had a layer of molebdenum over his entire body. Even when Wolverine slashed his chest opened up his body and it healed in like the next panel. I don't think it's a retcon at all.

You might be right...most of the DH stuff is fairly old, so it's possible I wasn't able to get my hands on some of it, or just missed the reference. It would definitely explain some of the healing feats.

stick out tongue

But yeah, guilty as charged. But DHII backs his sh*t up, so I don't really think it's misplaced fanboy-ism.

In an amusing attempt to be an utter completist, I bought "Avengers Forever" where DHII has a cameo appearence. It hasn't come in the mail yet, but I'll probably post his camera time just for kicks.

It's also the arc that reveals that Space Phantom becomes Hercules, which is the scan that could've won Scoob and I the tourney we entered. I'm masochistic like that, so I want to look at it and weep.

embarrasment
