Mantis is the leader of a colony of Bugs (humanoid insects) that migrated from New Genesis, to Apokolips in order to serve Darkseid. Mantis is referred to as an energy vampire, where he can drain all sorts of energies whether it be cosmic, magic or energy from a Power Ring he can absorb it all.
