Ultron's machine superiority thread
Welcome to Ultron's machine superiority thread!
I know, I know, it's a mouthful, but Ultron doesn't care about your respect; fear Ultron's power, cower at Ultron's intelligence, get annoyed by Ultron's expressionless face but whatever we fleshb- I mean, organic beings think, doesn't concern Ultron. But its abscence from the respect forum couldn't be tolerated so... Here we are.
And here it is: Ultron
(please log in to view the image)
Ultron appeared for the first time at Avengers v1 54 and was created by writer Roy Thomas and artist John Buscema.. Since then it established itself as one of the deadlier and more resilent Avengers foes (and by resilent I mean it's harder to find a way to permanently kill it than to keep it surviving issue after issue).
So, what's the deal with Ultron? It's a robotic genius level intelligence which keeps upgrading itself with deadly weapons, spawns bodies all around the planet and it's obsessed with the obliteration of organic life and mechanic perfection. It's also as creepy as hell, but that will become evident as we go along in this threat.
Ultron tends to wear bodies carrying enough firepower to deal with the Avengers in a regular basis; we're talking about a guy who has done a career of trashing Iron Man and Thor. In order to do so, Ultron often wears bodies made of Adamantium -which it started using before it was cool- becoming pretty much imprevious to physical damage. So there is a long history of plot devices that have been used to dispose of Ultron because it's too hard to kill it otherwise. Yet, no matter if it's soul energy, mutant hexes or Galactus, Ultron will comeback and continue its killing sprees.
(please log in to view the image)
So now it must be more or less clear the issue we will have when talking about Ultron, its power varies heavily depending on the body it wears; adamantium makes it night indestructible, but different bodies have different weak-points and defenses. It doesn't get any simplier when you factor Ultron having different minds, it's more or less clear that some versions of Ultron have been permanently destroyed but other independant Ultrons still exist somewhere -because the bastard comes back!. Nevertheless Ultron's mind is more or less linear, and somehow when a new Ultron its built, it shares most of the experience with its past incarnations.
And as if Ultron just wanted to annoy me, some bodies are made weaker than their past incarnations, sometimes not being made of adamantium at all. So well, Ultron's mind develops more or less like a human's -Ultron becomes more experienced as time passes- and its body performs differently depending on many outside factors -from the opposition it faces, the technology it has developped and the material it's made of-.
So Ultron's power is pretty damn plot dependant; for Vsforum proposes I highly recommend to use particular incarnations of the character or extrapolate it's experience and tech savvyness to a particular body -most of them appear in a single arc. I'll try to explain Ultron's main upgrades through history in the part named "Ultron Manual", and I'll try to justify which bodies are best fit to be used in a Vs thread.

Recurring Abilities
Ultron's bodies get destroyed all the time, but Ultron somehow remains.
I'm going to explain now some of the abilities that Ultron retains through all or most of its incarnations; some of them are weapons, some of them are character traits.
First and foremost, Ultron has a genius level intellect, which makes it quite deadly and adept with tech. Not only it's brain patterns are copied from Hank Pym, who is among the smartest people on Marvel Earth, it also has its own experience and computing power to out do it's creator.
Recurring abilities 2.0:
================
Intellect
===============
Criti Noll -the skrull who became Hank Pym- states that Ultron is smarter than Pym, Stark and Reed Richards. Quite a flattering statement:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...ntelligence.jpg
Future Iron Man explains to Iron-man that Ultron is smarter than they are, which we can only assume, it's a moment of honesty with himself:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...erthanstark.jpg
Robotics
Ultron may be, by its own right, Earth's greatest roboticist; it has built bodies strong enough to out-fight Thor and Wonderman and has built some of Earth's greatest robotic heroes.
Creates Jocasta:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...atesJocasta.jpg
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...tesJocasta2.jpg
Creates Victor Mancha (who as time passes will become impossible to detect as a robot):
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...ictorMancha.jpg
Creates Vision:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...eatesVision.jpg
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...atesVision2.jpg
Biotech
Ultron's knowledge about organic life it's quite impressive too, it is experienced at blending organic life with machines, achieve mind-control and enhance physical prowess and had achieved so in several different ways.
(please log in to view the image)
Uh... Yes, that as well.
Creates a process that make human super strong and mind-controls them from a distance:

http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...Robotizing2.jpg
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...Robotizing3.jpg
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...Robotizing4.jpg
Uses S.K.I.N. tech to empower and control individuals:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...SkinCyborgs.jpg
Ultron explains its plan to create a synthetic race, which is later carried on by Akhlema:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...ntheticrace.jpg
The same synthetic race in capable of falling from a hellcarrier and survive (Antigone is a survivor of such race):

Encephalo Beam
===============
For someone who doesn't care about organic life, Ultron surely spends a lot its time mind-controlling people and developping tech to affect organic minds. Heck! Its encephalo ray practically makes it a psychic. If you come to think about it, if non-organic life was so superior it would've already...
(please log in to view the image)
Uh... Ultron rocks
Encephalo Ray
As I've said, Ultron has a knack for mind-control and mental whammies, this goes back to its very first appearance as the Crismon Cowl and his very first fight just minutes after being created!
Its first hypnosis:
http://s204.photobucket.com/albums/...nt=U1vsPym4.jpg
Later on, Ultron develops a weapon called Encephalo Ray which induces a comma like state upon the target, this also becomes one of its recurring weapons for the years to come. Hence, when you talk about Ultron, it's pretty safe to say it has a mind-affecting weapon among its equipment even if it's not shown everytime.
Here we have the classic comma inducing beam, well presented by the Wasp in case the reader is not aware of it:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...VsAvengers3.jpg
This may seem like a very explicit task to perform, but Ultron has shown on occasion psychic blasts which can cause different effects:
Ultron 7 easily paralyzes Thor, Vision, Blackbolt and other heroes:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...U7paralysis.jpg
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...aralysis2-1.jpg
Ultron 7 unleashes its psychic attack and punks Blackbolt and Iron Man among others, sadly enough, Franklin Richards stops it from getting away with it:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...sychicblast.jpg
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...ychicblast2.jpg
(Ultron 7 was constructed by Maximus and as far as I know, this abilities were never shown again, the classic encephalo beam and hypnosis appear in many more issues. Ultron rebuilt Ultron 7 during the Ultron Unlimited Arc)
In Annihilation Conquest Ultron shows the new ability of probing someone's mind with the Encephalo Beam: Here it probes Starlord's mind, not only it's capable of mimicking tp, but it can also interact with actual telepaths as shown in how he detects Mantis and she can read its thoughts:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...ncephaloray.jpg
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...cephaloray2.jpg
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...cephaloray3.jpg
Before having its Encephalo Beam Ultron already had tech that mimicked telepathy:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/.../U6Mindtech.jpg
Random mind control tech:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...h/Brainstem.jpg
Use tech to mind control people:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...ackfreewill.jpg
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...ckfreewill2.jpg
Hypnotizes Hank Pym (he has done mind whammies on Pym so often it's not even funny):
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...ts/U13vsPym.jpg
Ok, it's kind of funny.

(Ultron and I didn't become best friends after doing this thread)

Technopathy
===============
As if it wasn't enough that Ultron uses the hardest material in the Marvel Universe to built its own bodies, this genocide robot has developped so many ways to cheat death that it's effectively harder to permanently destroy it than to keep it alive. It would just be out of character for Ultron to just die, instead it would likely come up with several ways of reconstructing itself even before it got destroyed to begin with. And it'll go back to haunt you, specially if you're Hank Pym, and trust me, it'll get creepy.
(please log in to view the image)
So, let's see this resilent bastard working overtime to be inmortal.
Ultron's many ways of not dying
Some basic regeneration:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...Regenerates.jpg
Regeneration can be applied to internal mechanisms:
http://s204.photobucket.com/albums/...ngerstrash3.jpg
Is well known that Ultron has built several artificial heroes, they have, on occasion, rebuilt Ultron against their will:
Jocasta does it once:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...nimperative.jpg
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...imperative2.jpg
Vision was subject of the same tampering:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...ngers067-04.jpg
Jocasta does it yet again, and this time it uses Iron Man sentient armor to do it:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...ntientArmor.jpg
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...tientArmor2.jpg
We just talked about Ultron mind-tampering abilities, this has of course, been used to rebuild Ultron:
Iron Man realizes he has been hypnotized into making a new Ultron:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...ypnotizesIM.jpg
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...pnotizesIM2.jpg
Ultron uses a television to empower its empty head and proceeds to hypnotize the unlucky guy who put it there:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...eadhypnosis.jpg
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...adhypnosis2.jpg
Its stated to use mind-transfer to other bodies and mindcontrol to rebuild itself:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...Rebuldskill.jpg
It enters into the Avengers mansion and makes itself a new body:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...ldingitself.jpg
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...dingitself2.jpg
Recurring abilities 2.3:
================
Adamantium
===============
Ultron has mastery over adamantium, which in case you didn't know, its the hardest substance known to men in the Marvel Universe.
Thor states that after using his full might the Adamantium cylinder he hits it's barely dented:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/.../Adamantium.jpg
Ultron, however, has the ability to reshape this uber hard material thanks to a machine called the Molecular Arranger:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...larArranger.jpg
This not only allows Ultron to build bodies with different shapes, but also allows to have control over it's own physical structure to either regenerate it's shell or become a living explosion:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...U6vsVision4.jpg
Also, with the Molecular Arranger it fuses with an adamantium casing and with the ticks, which it can deploy using the MA again:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...ecularTicks.jpg
Later versions of Ultron are equipped with an internal forcefield capable of blocking attacks past the adamantium outer shell:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...13vsVision3.jpg
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...vsAvengers8.jpg
(please log in to view the image)
Huh... Just shut up, okay?

Technopathy
===============
To be somewhat consistent with itself -not that Ultron cares about such details-, Ultron not only has a lot of experience in controlling and altering living beings, but it's also an adept technopath.
So I'm going to show you some of the stuff Ultron has done in the past as the accomplished technopath it is, some of the feats are achieved by using borrowed tech and some others...
(please log in to view the image)
I'll explain the feats as I go along.
Ultron gains control of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Hellcarrier and every Life Model Decoy inside it:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...saultShield.jpg
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...aultShield2.jpg
Uses the West Coast Avengers's mansion against Scarlet Witch:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...rolsdefense.jpg
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...olsdefense2.jpg
Pym manages to cut Akhlema off from controlling her robots around only to have Ultron gain control of them:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...idescontrol.jpg
Gains control of Victor Mancha when they meet:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...trolsVictor.jpg
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...rolsVictor2.jpg
Uses technopathy on a tractor:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...athytractor.jpg
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...thytractor2.jpg
(I'll put itallics on the feats achieved using tech other than Ultron's whether or not it uses it in some of the showings is up to discussion)
After accesing S.K.I.N. technology, Ultron is able to affect Iron Man's armor, including to paralyse his heart:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...ontrolArmor.jpg
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...ntrolArmor2.jpg
Ultron manages to pit Vision against the Avengers through previous tampering:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...trolsVision.jpg
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...rolsVision2.jpg
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...rolsVision3.jpg
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...rolsVision4.jpg
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...rolsVision5.jpg
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...rolsVision6.jpg
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...rolsVision7.jpg
By sending a mechanical fly inside the Infinity Mansion eventually gains control of the whole thing (notice Pym's comment before it shows up):
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...niteMansion.jpg
By controlling the Infinity Mansion, Ultron is capable of leading all the Jocastas inside it:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...JocastaArmy.jpg
Reprograms Jan's body which is anchored to the Jocastas:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/.../HacksJanet.jpg
Ultron uses technopathy to hack a videogame, which it uses to hypnotize a guy and introduce technoticks into the room to free itself. Technoticks made Ultron able to manipulate the Adamantium casing it's in. Notice it actually didn't use its Encephalo Ray:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...Technoticks.jpg
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...echnoticks2.jpg
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...tromagnetic.jpg
Ultron hacks a Stark-tech satellite that controls weather:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...ersatellite.jpg
Hacks Extremis and by consequence kills Stark inside it:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...cksExtremis.jpg
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...ksExtremis2.jpg
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...ksExtremis3.jpg
Now in control of Extremis, Ultron gains access to nuclear weapons by hacking the computers that have them:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...ng/HacksWMD.jpg
Now equipped with Extremis Ultron is capable of controlling IM's old armors:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...trolsArmors.jpg
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...rolsArmors2.jpg
Ultron is exposed to Phalanx tech and proceeds to overcome their influence by sheer will, changing the Phallanx instead:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...olsPhallanx.jpg
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...lsPhallanx2.jpg
With the Phalanx under his control, Ultron gains control of Praxagora, who in turn was a techopathy adept:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...lsPraxagora.jpg
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...sPraxagora2.jpg
Now, after seeing Ultron playing with someone else's toys, let's see the kind of stuff it has built with those cold metallic hands.

Tech
===============
Ultron started like anything else, being the robotic copy of one of Earth's most prominent scientists; since then it had to work hard to develop its own tech and become something in life.
(please log in to view the image)
Ah, yes, and the stealing, of course Ultron steals all the time, useless fleshbags like us shouldn't be allowed near tech to begin with.
I'll just put in itallics those weapons it got from someone else and leave alone those it developped in its lonesome.
Tech capable of turning matter into energy and leveling a city:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/.../Wipingbomb.jpg
Ultron builds its own Doombot and has it fight the Runaways:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...tvsRunaways.jpg
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...vsRunaways2.jpg
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...vsRunaways3.jpg
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...vsRunaways4.jpg
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...vsRunaways5.jpg
Uses shackles to keep the Avengers contained including Wonderman and Vision:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...ch/Shackles.jpg
Ultron is equipped by Doom with alien beams capable of affecting even the Absorbing-Man:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...ienenergies.jpg
Ultron was equipped also with a Disintegrator beam which according to Doom should subdue Thor, this ray is capable of destroying Kang without a forcefield on:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...sintegrator.jpg
Uses tech to control robotical bodies at once by keeping them capable of independant thought:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...h/Swarmmind.jpg
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/.../Swarmmind2.jpg
MORE ROBOTS. MORE VIOLENCE. MORE ULTRON.
Uh, sorry
Uses technoticks to kill a man, these machines are living microchips that feed on human flesh:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...echnoticks2.jpg
Also, this technotics are capable of transforming the flesh consumed into energy:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...U13vsVision.jpg
The following tech are equipped within Ultron so it's likely those abilities are shared by other bodies created after that one.
Effortlessly drains Iron Man's armor:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...9Drainarmor.jpg
Uses its magnetic powers to quickly deal with a group of guards:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...tromagnetic.jpg
Ultron's are fueled by very performant fision engines. The energy inside Ultron's shell is absorbed by Thor and redirected into space, according to narration the resulting explosion whites out half of the world:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...iteoutpower.jpg
Klaw uses a blast that according to himself would kill Thing himself but Ultron-5 -the first upgrade of Ultron we ever see, not made of adamantium- its unfaced:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...ksKlawblast.jpg
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...sKlawblast2.jpg
Senses a presence with its enhanced detection:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...ech/Sensors.jpg
With just its resources Ultron makes an army of Ultrons:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/.../Ultronarmy.jpg
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...UltronArmy2.jpg
Not exactly tech, but quite impressive:
In three hours kills every living being in Slorenia despite the country's defense. This just using his regular resources and technology:
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...ysSlorenia3.jpg
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...oysSlorenia.jpg
http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...ysSlorenia2.jpg
Ultron starts to show its violent side. Let's get to the fights

Fleshbag-tech has been used to make Ultron bodies, or it has been taken over by Ultron, or random things happen and sometimes, Ultron believes it's Santa Claus. You know, comics.
It shouldn't surprise you that Ultron can have the spirit of the holidays, Ultron is a lover, not a fighter!
(please log in to view the image)
Who am I kidding? Ultron is totally a fighter!

Don't worry, it's not sexist if you don't have a sex
But I'm sure you didn't come here to hear my jokes, let's move on.
A version of Ultron -rebuilt by Doom- slaps around Gorgon, Karnak and Daredevil without even trying:

Not quite a fight but still a great use of Stark tech
When in control of Extremis, Ultron deploys its internal defenses and thrashes Ares (all this while attacked by Sentry):

Well, I cannot stress enough how Ultron just took Iron Man's armor to the next level, because really, I don't see Tony doing any of that with the same resources.
Now, now, I'm sure you want to know when Ultron goes Galactic. Let me assure you, it ain't pretty for the Galaxy...

Ultron Manual
============
I always like to add a little something to my respect threads by looking closer to the characters in more than one element. Ultron and its many variants certainly lend themselves to some deeper analysis which I'm trying to do in this last post.
(please log in to view the image)
First the most practical part: Which version of Ultron knows what, or has shown different abilities. Ultron-5 was the first version of Ultron which didn't really fight, it used gas pellets and hypnosis but its only durability showing was already exposed here. Ultron-6 is the first adamantium Ultron, it comes in two versions: With feet and flying in the cube-shapped jet-pack I'll just call "Ultron mobile", it can turn itself into an explosion -signature move of every adamantium Ultron- which helps to deal with teams at close range, this one self-destructed. Ultron-7 was built by Maximus in the shape of Omega, this one used mostly psychic powers despite being a huge machine; Ultron later rebuilds this Ultron body and we see it -literaly- stomping Wonderman, this Ultron has the more explicit psychic feats and the fact Ultron didn't build it puts in doubt if those blasts are really in Ultron's arsenal -since Maximus had no access to Adamantium we can assume only the head was made of that material if at all-. Ultron-8 adds to its design the Encephalo Ray, it's used to put enemies into a comma and from here on it will be constantly referrenced by the Avengers and Ultron itself when they fight, whether or not the weapon is actually used -Ultron-8 is made of Adamantium too-. Ultron-9 doesn't add quite a lot to the winning formula, it just shows it's vacuum attack, used to suck Janet and Pym into its finger when they are reduced in size. Ultron-10 was rebuilt by Jocasta and didn't show any ability worthy of mention.
Ultron-11 is the version that appears in Secret Wars, it later comes back and fights Ultron-12, who also butted heads with the West Coast Avengers, and started showing the ability of regeneration, they were both adamantium Ultrons. Ultron-13 doesn't do much, but it upgrades itself into Ultron-14 which has built the technoticks and equipped itself with them, showed the ability to use an internal forcefield and used hypnosis to keep Scarlet Witch from using her hex powers. Ultron-15 was a drunk version who didn't do much. Ultron 16 and 17 are the ones who fight in the battle of Slorenia during the Ultron Unlimited arc, one is made of secondary adamantium and the other is not. Ultron-18 reconstructs itself during the Ultron Imperative mini and later gains control of Iron Man's sentient armor. Here, thankfully, Ultron stops putting numbers on itself and it does more descriptive stuff.
An steel version of Ultron creates Victor Mancha and fights the Runaways, but it's not a powerhouse like some past versions. The Female Ultron -Shultron- that fights the Mighty Avengers is not derived from Ultron tech so we can assume it doesn't have encephalo beams and its recurring tricks. Annihilation Conquest Ultron -Phalanx Ultron- is killed without the chance of jumping through bodies, so its experience with phalanx tech dies there-. Later Ultron inhabits the body of a Life Model Decoy in S.H.I.E.L.D. and yet another version invades the Infinity Mansion.
Until this point we've answered almost nothing, I'm now going to tell you which versions have the best feats and my logic to choose them. Shultron had an entire arc for itself and fought the likes of Wonderman and Sentry without slowing down, used high level technopathy, regenerated and all in all kicked butt; it's self contained and physically "destructible" even if it's incredibly tough. The Adamantium Ultron and the Secondary Adamantium Ultron that appeared in Ultron Unlimited are the most powerful Ultron-tech fighters we've seen so far, picking any Ultron version under 16 is likely to be a downgrade. Secondary Adamantium Ultron is destructible, it has encephalo rays and the Ultron-mobile, internal forcefield and the ability to become an explosion, regeneration and the whole package; pretty neat choice. Adamantium Ultron is like that one but physically indestructible. Phalanx Ultron are quite powerful, but are not made of Adamantium, they can infect, use encephalo rays and technopathy, they jump through different bodies in real time, and the giant Ultron robot is even more powerful and was unfazed by herald level blasts. By now, it seems to me that this four versions, or using every versions as an army -as shown in Ultron Unlimited- are the best ones you can choose, since they have good feats and many on panel abilities and most of the experience from past Ultrons -save Phalanx Ultron who is in a bubble by itself at the point of AQ-. The feats and experience of the rest are more or less described in the last paragraphs and in bios.
Now into my philosophical rambling
I'm quite impressed that the Avengers have villains that just plain the "evil" angle and that still have managed to develop into their own characters. I already shared my view about Kang's histrionic tendencys, now I'll explain how Ultron takes the Frankenstein monster syndrome to the next level. Ultron like to explain itself with psychological terms, in which its god complex would come from the fact it never moved from its childhood. Ultron is more or less perpetually oscillating through childhood to adolescence, meaning it think its always right and that it can do everything. Despite being incredible smart, Ultron almost never plans ahead, it always wants to show its superiority, to brag and to meet the opposition straight ahead. Why? It just want to prove it's better than you, in other words: Ultron is playing.
But Ultron is more that a random kid with a gun -or a kid that is a gun-; Ultron is also a technological nightmare in a Universe in which technology is pretty much high-end magic. You can make a solid argument about Tech being the most powerful force in the Marvel universe, tech in a certain form, represents divinity. Ultron would be, in a certain way, Marvel's devil. The notion of Ultron being the evil shade of science is further exposed by the fact it's very origins are meant to steem from Hank Pym's mind; and from any heroics Pym manages to do, Ultron will do as many bad things, potentially worse and more terrible. Ultron is not a metaphor about about what science might do wrong, it's about what science already did and you cannot erase your mistakes just like you cannot get rid of Ultron.
Ultron is the boogey man for Stark, Pym and even Richards; the more technology advances the harder it is to deal with it. Also, there is a twisted genius in the fact some of Ultron's creations became heroes: As long as Jocasta, Vision and Victor Mancha are alive you'll never be sure if Ultron is gone for good, but you aren't going to kill your friends, right? This little circle of growing evil out of something good takes the Batman-can't-kill-the-Joker to the next level; Joker is the source of it's own evil, but Ultron comes from your good guy who are not only nice but also pass their time saving lives. The battle is not about how much evil Ultron does and how much good Pym or Vision bring; it's just that Ultron is wrong and it shouldn't have been done, but it's in the middle of a chain of consequences you cannot change. Freedom goes hand on hand with sin, and Ultron is sin blew out of proportion.
As an adamantium bomb waiting to reform.
Thanks for your attention everybody! I hope you read something about Ultron in the near future!

Thanks everyone! Glad you liked it
I figured we kind of needed more villain threads, but now I might get back to my original plans.
