Revamped Thing Respect Thread

IT'CLOBERRIN TIME

this is a new thread of respect for the Thing, with pictures from all over the internet, which I picked up in forums, blogs and scan the entire network

will be a little different, better order it, it will divide into chapters

ENJOY wink

1)Strength
-Quotes
-Feat

2)Great rivals/Historical battles
-Hulk
-Namor
-Colossus

3)Other Battles with:
Class 100 + : Hercules, Thor, Juggernaut, Silver Surfer, Destroyer, Champion, Terrax, Hyperion
Class 100: B-Beast, Wonder Man, Black Bolt, Korg, She Hulk, Ultron, Doctor Doom, Dragon Man
Class 50-100: Blaastar, Rhino, Sasquach

4)The mightiest member of Fantastic Four?
The Strongest one there WAS?

5)Immortality, agility and endurance

6)OTHER VERSIONS (Pineapple Thing, Ultimate Thing, Angrir Breaker of Souls, Secret Wars II)

Strength

Quotes

-Reed Richards: my best friend is a linebacker made out of orange rock, nearly invulnerable, and strong enough to arm wrestle Thor and almost beat him
-Champion: my enemy more powerful was the Thing!
-Skrulls: He is the strongest one in the sol galaxy!
-Doctor Doom: The strongest creature on the Earth!
-Iron Man: Grimm's strength is incredible!
-Silver Surfer: your natural strength is almost beyond my comprension!
-Ultron: you posses a great strength, human! Perhaps, it equals my own!
-Namor: your strength is immeasurable, on land!

FEAT

The strength of the Thing, through the training and equipment of Reed, grew more and more
if in the first few numbers was class 5-10, already after a few months the strength of Ben grew up to make a Mid-Tier, to levels of 100 tons that you may notice about the 80-90 years onwards
Mr Grimm has Feat of physical strength that make a real maximum weight, and other impressive, ranging from hundreds of tonnes per weight planetary

these are not feat of strength worthy of a Class 100?

HULK VS THE THING

(please log in to view the image)

but what has ALWAYS been able to keep up with him, and to gain some victory
Hulk has never been able to easily defeat Ben, except in WHH

When had the Thing won?

1)Hard Knocks

in this story is told that after their first encounter, the Thing has left F4, furious, because thinks he's a monster, and met Hulk
Ben attacks Hulk and beats him mercilessly until it turned into Banner

Hulk was weakened by a ray? no
because in history, Hulk reverts to Banner, then retrieves all the energy
Moreover, the fight happened the day after

Hulk has knocked the Thing about 5-6 times
many of their clashes ended in a draw, with both vying for victory

Hulk a few times (like what) won thanks to a "help"

FF # 112
My favourite Hulk vs Thing
them, fight on par for hours
he clash ends just because Alicia is interfering, distracting Ben

FF # 167

Here, Ben is about to win again
but the radiation, they made return human

THING VS COLOSSUS

The Thing and Colossus are the strong ones that are most often compared
why?
are among the most popular, as well as being the strongest members of their team, F4 and X-Men

despite this, they never clashed, as standard

in X-Men Annual 5, disputing an arm-wrestling match
wins the Thing, but Colossus is distracted by Kitty

http://s3.amazonaws.com/resourcel/ ..._05_page_38.jpg

but there is a way to find out who is stronger ...
confrontation with the Champion of the Universe

against the Campion, Colossus is resistant to only two shots
The Thing resist for 3 rounds, and can damage the opponent

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=989WHICDnGw

and above all .... who of the two has the harder skin?
We understand this ... comparing the impact with the crowbar of the wecker wink

one shot is enough to reduce end-of-life Piotr
Xavier says that if Peter had not been taken care of, he would have died

It took only one punch because Rogue fastball special'd Logan into Ben earlier, dazing him in the process.

Not a bad start on the thread though, keep it up.

THE THING VS NAMOR

in my opinion, this is the battle more interesting
Namor and the Thing have always been great rivals ... maybe not for the readers, but the marvel universe rivalry / hatred that exists between Ben Grimm and Sub-Mariner is a catchphrase
a catchphrase that has come back into vogue thanks to AVX .... where Ben and Namor have faced 5-6 times! smile

First, what is the relationship between the two?
they were both enemies and allies have rarely, but between the two there is a lot of respect

Ben says that Namor is a enemy worthy of his strength
Namor, in FF 147, believing beat him, Namor calls him "the most powerful member of the F4"
(please log in to view the image)

but, on the land, who is the stronger?
the answer is in their first battle, in FF9

Namor is stronger in water
The Thing understand it, and moves the battle on the beach

(please log in to view the image)

here, away from its environment, the Thing is more stronger

(please log in to view the image)

and here the Thing was not strong as today
in the following years, the Thing has proved more stronger on the land

This clash has surprised everyone, because water Namor should be more powerful.... including me
I, who have followed the scan from Italy, I was amazed by the result

we ignore for a moment this fight, and try to focus for a second on those who are successful on earth

in these, the Thing has brought always ahead
but the fights were always interrupted .....

1)On Tabula Rasa, AVX 4

(please log in to view the image)

In addition, there is another evidence for the thesis that the Thing is stronger than Namor

Thing's Place In The New MU

This thread is exactly what I've been talking about for years. The idea that as the Marvel Universe continues to expand, all the heroes and villains have been so over powered that the strong aren't even that strong any more. And The Thing has been relegated to Marvel's whipping boy.

A hero they use because his name is associated with strength, to receive beatings by all newcomers and old characters alike. This is all done in order to prove the power levels of those characters. It's a stupid idea and one that has made a joke out of one of Marvel's greatest. I stopped reading FF comics because of this new take on the Thing.

This thread does a great job of remembering who the Thing is and what he is capable of doing. It's good to see other like minded fans who are tired of seeing the Thing represented as only effective when part of the FF. Great thread, thanks for starting it!

The Thing rarely gets respect.
I'd like to see a Thing/Colossus battle that spans Marvel Comics.
