Omg alien is coming to theatre this october
I saw a trailer that said ALIEN directors cut would be coming to the big screen this october (halloween season). I'm so gonna go see it. Its the only good horror/scifi out there with event horizon coming in 2nd.
Got this excerpt from some website :
"The announcement last month that Fox would be re-releasing Ridley Scott's 1979 classic "Alien" into theaters on Halloween was met with wild enthusiasm by fans of the movie, with the most often asked question being, "Will the film include any restored scenes?"
FilmJerk.com has learned, through contacts within Fox Films, that the film will be getting most, if not all, of the cut footage restored back into the narrative. Final details are still being worked out, but our source tells us the film's soundtrack will also be remastered to take advantage of today's digital cinema sound formats, and will be positioned as a major fall release, to play on over 2,000 screens.
Our source also tells us that, should this rerelease become successful, like the "Star Wars" trilogy and "Exorcist" rereleases, tentative plans have already been set to release James Cameron's restored cut of "Aliens" into theatres next spring."

Well I think that only works in some cases, say if the actors are wearing bell bottoms, then the era it was made in becomes rudely apparent. I think they chose alien because in sci fi there really isnt any specific signs of when the movie was made.

I am not a fan of the Alien movies, although mu husband is. I will probably see it if it is re-released in my area. You mentioned Event Horizon, I would LOVE to be able to see it in theaters. I hope they'll re-release it sometime.

I just saw the Alien Director's Cut and it was classic as all hell. I haven't seen the original for a while on any format and I'm wondering what the major differences are, if anyone knows. I'm pretty sure they added a slap scene back in. The 'other chick' slaps Sigorney Weaver for not letting them back on the ship. And I could swear they added a lot more scenes of Yaphet Kotto containing dialouge, which kicked major ass since he's such a bad ass. And the sound was great and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

There is not a single theater in the area where I live that is showing this movie. Not in a 100 mile radius... I was beginning to wonder if they pushed back the release date...
