People only pick on newbies when the newbies give the other members something to pick one.
This is only mt second day here and I already feel at home! All the members are really friendly and it's easy to fit in. 
And one is really a newbie until they act like a newbie.
You should consider yourself lucky youre at this forum, becuase the other forum I visit, we shoot the annoting n00bs.

people only tend to pick on newbies that dont check things out before they post or start a thread.... People need to observe a bit before they start participating.

Welcome, I think you will find that people pick on each other here regardless of whether they are new or not, it's just that some of the other members just ignore each other now.
