KMC Forums - Polar Express 3D IMAX version

Hi, I'm a newbie here. I'm not with Warners or Imax, or anybody involved in making The Polar Express. But,this film is a must see for all who love to watch the improvement in media technology advance with a real LEAP!
They are doing something remarkable with the PERFORMANCE CAPTURE...Bravo! But less obvious to most people, this is the very FIRST full length feature film EVER RELEASED in IMAX 3D format.
This could, and likely will, trigger a trend to release ALL future "3D"
animation films in "true stereoscopic 3D". It has been an extrem irony,
that 3d CGI films like SHREK, NEMO, MONSTERS INC, SHARK TALE,
etc. have been created using "3D" imaging models, but never released in
a format the would actual display that 3D modeling in 3D. Imax has done
it here for Warners. Hopefully one of the non-IMAX 3D formats that are
waiting in the wings will come to a theater right in your neighborhood
by next year. N. America needs another 1500 3D capable screens
and then 3D would be winthin a short drive for everybody. If you like
the film, tell people, when you see it. That can get to the studio execs,
and bring on the 3d revolution, that is waiting to happen!
