We don't get to see how the T-1000 sees the world, but we get a clue from the deleted scene where he searches John Connor's room. I don't know but maybe he can see through certain walls.
Didn't anyone find it strange that we never got to see how the T-1000 views his surroundings?
After killing the dog, the T-1000 goes to John's room to try to find any clues as to where John might be. He stalks around the room waving his arms and "feeling" things on the shelves, on the walls, etc. He eventually stops in front of a poster, realizes there is something behind it, rips it down and finds a box of mementos (pictures, and the like). This must be where the T-1000 figures out about the desert compound that Sarah, John, and the T-800 head to after the hospital. I think Director James Cameron decided to cut it because it made the T-1000 look too much like it had x-ray vision.
Yes, it was taken out for that reason but that is not what the scene implies at all. The T-1000 learns less by obseravation alone, like the T101, but more by feeling. The T-1000 is like a sponge that can soak up information. When we first meet the t1000 when he comes back through time and gets in the police car you will notice he rubs his hand across the computer; all of sudden he knows how to use it and search for John. The t1000 can actually soak information from things into himselfe, which is how he is able to imitate anything he touches.
That alternate ending is just shameful! "Judgement Day came and went ... and nothing happened. Michael Jackson turned 40 {?!}. John continues to fight ... but as a senator in congress {!!}". Terrible!!!
I would however, love to see any other deleted scenes {why I still haven't is beyond me ...}
Oh, and about me staying permanantly? See the "This Time I Won't Be Back" thread; the first post I made there a few days back explains that coming back here on a permanant basis is, in fact, a physical impossibility rather than a personal choice ...
