DC Universe Online...
Anyone here going to give this game a try?
If so, what kind of character can you envision yourself creating?
I myself am seriously thinking about making a "Juggernant" type character; very strong with extremely high defense...as much defense as the game allows me to build him with...but no ability to do anything else.
So again, what kind of character will you make?

I'm going to make a Superman clone and name him Kal-El_69.

Honestly, the lack of playing canons puts me off.

I don't think I need to explain the reasons against allowing people to roll canon characters.
And honestly I prefer being able to make my own superhero/villain to just regurgitating a pre-fabricated one.

If the hero customization is anything like Champions Online then expect to see a couple dozen recognizable heroes a day.

Oh well a really well designed private server could probably maneuver past that obstacle anyway.

Unless I can play darkseid or doomsday i agee with this.
But I would definitly start off with a brickk type character.

Aside from Slade fighting Wonder Woman, I really was impressed with the trailer.

Quite frankly Lex Luthor pwning her is more unbelievable IMO. Unlike Slade he lacks the skill or proven jobber--err awesomeness aura to take it to someone on Diana's level.

I'm put off by the pay to play crap.... I mean do you have to pay to play? If it's free to play I'd probably give it a whirl. What type of character would I make? I'd go with a Juggernaut type with high defense, and strength, and if I could fit power blasts in there with medium to high blast yield that would be my character. Or I would go with a Dr. Strange magic type with decent strength amping abilities.

I saw a character creation video recently; apparently you can be "inspired" by a particular hero, donning a costume that incorporates their logos.

I guess that's only fair since you've got all the Batgirls, Batwoman, the Wonder Girls, Supergirl, Superboy, Steel, and a bunch of others doing the same in Universe already.
Why should we have to work any harder than DC writers to come up with new characters?

One of Batman's spare boots would probably be end-game gear.
