This isn't an actual versus thread with fighting or anything. So, I decided to post it here. As you all know, or should know anyway, Marvel and DC are the two largest comic book industries. This thread is to keep track of who's doing better at the moment. Every time an update comes along about the two companies, post it here. Discuss which company you like better and why, and feel free to debate that topic.
Personally, im currently buying more DC books compared to Marvel. This was waay different about 3-5 years ago for me. I dont read everything Marvel, but from what i do read, DC seems to have the better stories. Marvel does have alot of loyal fans and to me that could be the main reason they still continue to hold the top gross overall.
Each month my pickups are.....
DC
Green Lantern
Green Lantern Corps
JLA
JSA
JSA Classified
Superman/Shazam - First Thunder
Infinate Crisis
Flash
Justice
All-Star Batman and Robin
Seven Soldiers - Zatanna
And thats not counting all the series that just ended before crisis.
DC:
Green Lantern
Green Lantern Corps: Recharge
All-Star Batman and Robin
Marvel:
New Avengers
Young Avengers
House of M
Drax the Destroyer (mini)
The Sentry (mini)
Daredevil versus Punisher
Astonishing X-Men
(Plus anything that's Ultimate I buy when the trades come out)
Overall, I'm more of a Marvel fan, yet I still really like DC. I probably woudn't have a clue of what's going on if I picked up Infinite Crisis... Never read Identity Crisis either, but I'll buy the graphic novel someday. I also buy some Darkhorse each month, but that's sorta besides the point.
DC:
JSA
JSA Classified
JLA
JLA Classified
The Outsiders
Superman/Shazam
Wonder Woman
Action Comics
Adventures of Superman

My pickups?
New Avengers (They are always top ten for a reason right?)
Spiderman (MK and Amazing)
Sumpreme Power
Ultimates (I read other Ultimate series but only TBP)
Unc. X-men
X-men
Astonishing (When it's published. Well not for another year.)
Cable and Deadpool
I am going to pick up She-Hulk (Dan Slott is the man!)
Runaways
X-Factor will be awesome and i'll be picking it up.
I'll give New Excalibur a shot.
Daredevil and Max Punisher are both EXCELLENT comics in their own right. Captain America has also been better than it has been in a longt ime. But, you gotta make sacrifices sometimes(usually to keep a collection going :P) when you don't have the budget for everything lol. I usually allot myself some money each week to pick up something new and try it out.
DC:
Green Lantern
Green Lantern Corps.
I buy a couple different DC comics every week to give them a shot. Nothing in their regular lineup really jumps out at me though. I havn't heard/read anything about them that'll make me run to the store and buy them either. So I look more at Wildstorm and Vertigo.
Deus Ex Machina
Y the Last Man
I'm not going to pad my pickups with mini series like everyone else. I guess you can't really count it as a monthly pickup if it only lasts for a few months.
I'll make a seperate category for them!
Phoenix Endsong
Gravity (Just ended. Mckeever is great.)
Desolation Jones (Not done yet.)
Madrox (Awesome.)
Feather (Image)
Green Lantern
Green Lantern Corps
Action Comics
Superman
Adventures of Superman
Superman/Batman
Infinite Crisis/Four minis also
Flash
JLA
Superman/Shazam
Wonder Woman on occasion
All-star Batman & Robin
All-star Superman(when it comes out)
Marvel:
Astonshing X-men
X-men
Uncanny X-men
New Avengers
House of Crap

seven soliders: zatanna
Superman
WonderWoman
Justice
Infinite Crisis
GL
GLC
All Star Batman
Detective Comics
Supergirl
and then a few aspen comics like soulfire and dying of the light. man that micheal turner is something else. i have never been a real marvel fan, not sayin they are bad, i just like the DC characters better.
Well it seems as though DC's probably doing better than Marvel with the whole Infinite Crisis thing going on right now. Hopefully something big from Marvel (Civil War, maybe?) will even the odds.
I prefer DC but it only has 1 title in fair Britannia and theres loads of marvel so i get:
DC
Batman Legends
Marvel
Astonishing Spiderman
Essential X men
Mighty world of Marvel (occasionally)
Ultimate Spidey and X Men (occasionally)
Fantastic 4 Adventures (occasionally)
