whats with all the homework threads?
people used to think that the internet would advance society
on so many levels, but what has it really done besides make shopping
easier and turn kids into useless lazy "gimme gimme" a.d.d. freaks?
what is it that posesses a child to come to an internet forum dedicated to
movies, and ask for help (or rather 'please do it for me') with their homework?
not to sound like a crotchety old man, but way back in the stone age when i had
to do reports, i would have to go to the library and research, falling victim to
the dewey decimal system as i burned hours just looking for the material, let
alone actual research and work.
now its all searchable, and i think thats frikin awesome! how jealous am i? very!
but not in a bitter way, but in a 'GOOD FOR YOU!!!' way. you dont have
to go through the bullshit and hassle, and search engines save you hours upon
hours. so all is peachy, right?
now here we are, all this info just a *type-click search* away from an A+ on
your precious paper, and so many sites which have basically done your homework
FOR YOU already, and all thats left is to paraphrase, and what do
you do? "duuuh...i cant find anything about *insert misspelled topic*" or
"duuuh i cant decide what to write my paper on, because i dont have 5 minutes
to think about it" or "duh...where can i find info on *insert painfully easy topic
to search for*"
so is that the deal? do people's laziness and stupidity actually increase as
convenience and ease in gathering information increases? does anyone else
find this ironic?
Goddamn right. Except that you should still go to the library and research, because you can find far more information on most topics that way then by cruising the internet.
Incidently, teachers still make students attach works cited pages to their work, right? What do you think your teacher's going to think if you turn in a report on the Gaza strip with a movie forum listed as a reference? Haven't you learned to use appropriate sources?

I'm not sure if that's the right thread but can anypone help me? I need to write a Paper about "Indiana and Mahatmo Ganti" ...and I can't find anything about it.

I totally agree!
And whenever I challenge anyone who does that I get painted as the bad guy. It is ridiculous and lazy. No wonder the percentage of dumb-asses is increasing exponentially.
Any research garnered from the Internet should be further researched by other means (yes deano this include you). Any research done on a web forum only reveals the researcher in question to be a total idiot.
A swing...and a hit!

I completely agree with both Kharma and PVS here, Bardock doesn't deserve an answer and some people are lazy and idiotic. They always have been internet just makes it that much easier.

Yeah, I wanted to answer with some sort of alienation of his name..but the best I could think of was botankass which is about Jacope level..so i figured to just focus on damage containment.
